Transfer Experience and Choosing the Right Degree?

Hi everyone ,
I'm researching online degree programs that save time and money, and I found DegreeForum to be a very useful place to exchange. I currently have some credits from previous courses (including ACE and Sophia.org) and would like to ask if anyone has successfully transferred credits to a school like TESU, Excelsior or UMPI? Also, I'm confused about whether to choose a BA or BS to suit my career goals in the technology field. I hope everyone can share their experiences and advise me to help me orient myself more clearly.
