I got this message today from Elmwood Institute:
Hello,
I'm thrilled to share exciting news about Elmwood Institute's accreditation status. After 18 months of dedicated work, Elmwood has earned its own independent accreditation from the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC)!
Previously, Elmwood operated as a division of Patten University under Patten’s accreditation. Now, we are recognized by DEAC as an independent, accredited institution. This achievement significantly strengthens Elmwood's reputation and validates the quality of our educational programs.
What This Means for You
DEAC is recognized by both the US Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) as an institutional accrediting agency. This accreditation confirms that Elmwood meets rigorous standards for: educational quality, student outcomes, institutional integrity, and financial stability. This provides valuable assurance to you as students, as well as to employers and other institutions that may evaluate your credentials.
Action Required: New Enrollment Agreement
Since you originally enrolled under an agreement with "Elmwood Institute, a Division of Patten University," we need you to sign a new enrollment agreement that reflects our independent status. You will receive an email from Dropbox Sign with the updated agreement for your electronic signature. Please review and complete as soon as possible.
Please note: The enrollment agreement contains no substantive changes beyond removing the reference to Elmwood as a division of Patten University.
Thank you for being part of the Elmwood community during this milestone achievement.
Sincerely,
----------------------------------------------
This appears to be a strategic step towards separating Elmwood from Patten University. Do you think they will try to go for the RA?
