For the most part EC is not an online school. They are mainly used as a credit bank. The part of the university that most of us use is exactly the same as the backroom of any university. The bursar, registrar, advisement, and degree conferral services are exactly the same, and must follow exactly the same requirements as a B&M school to remain accredited.
The only thing that makes them unique is the fact that they *like* to accept credits from all other schools.
The strange thing here is that many B&M schools are missing out on the money that they could be making if they accepted more transfer credits. I gave EC probably $3.5k for testing, enrollment, and graduation over the course of 3 months. That is a lot of money for a college with no classrooms and a handful of professors. In fact, their only overhead was maybe an hour of advisement, and about an hour of credit evaluation.
