Test taken 12/02/09
My apologies for adding this in the main thread, I am getting a permission error when trying to add this in the test specific forum. Admin, please move this to the relevant thread if it makes sense to do so. I just finished my 8th Dantes test in 10 weeks (1 to go), and I used the CLEP materials as people had suggested. I passed with a 60 - whatever that means, and I had the InstantCert flashcards memorized cold. VERY little of it applied. I doubt I would have passed the test without the fundamentals learned in the flashcards, but I did not get the 20 or so no-brainer questions I am accustomed to. I kept count, and I had 25 answers that were TOTAL guesses - which is very unusual. I had 20 answers that I knew were right and another 30 that were 50/50. I thought there was a good chance I'd fail this test when I finished it, but I guess luck was on my side today.
No Freud, no Kohlberg, little or no softballs for mainstream diseases like Alzheimers, Downs, Autism, etc. - not one. As much as the flashcards focused on Pavlov, there was not a single question about him, and if memory serves there was only one question on classical conditioning (I was 50/50 on the answer). Know your stages of development and study hard. Common sense will get you a long way on this test, but you have to read every question carefully and learn how to weed out the answers that don't apply. This test took me 75 minutes to complete where all others have averaged about an hour.
InstantCert, I would encourage you to update this for DSST. I've learned enough after 8 tests to recognize the patterns in these tests and I can say with confidence that you have it nailed for the ones I have taken, with the exception of Ethics in America and Lifespan.
Tests:
Substance Abuse
Money & Banking
Personal Finance
History of the Vietnam War
Ethics in America
Introduction to Law Enforcement
Enviromnent: Race to Save The Planet
Livespan Development & Psychology
