Don Chubo Wrote:Hi all:Take the 6 unit SS & History. i just took it for the hell of it cuz i was there taking other stuff. i did NO preparation and got a 55. Not a great score but good enough. what was the main disagreement between the North and South that led to the civil war?
I need 6 SS credits, and am a bit torn about what to take.
I would like to take Social Science & History, get the 6 credits and be done, but there are a couple of problems with this:
I'm pretty good with History stuff, but weak in Social Science. I bought the 2010 Official Clep Study guide, so there is that to study, but no InstantCert flash cards available or else I would get a subscription to those.
I was thinking of getting this book : Amazon.com: CLEP Social Sciences and History: The Best Test Prep for the CLEP (Best Test Preperation & Review Course) (9780738606934): Scott, Ph.D. Dittloff: Books , but don't want to spend the money sight unseen unless it would really help.
So I'm wondering if I should take this test or whether I should change it up and take the 2 U.S. History tests or mix in an American Govt. CLEP. I took the 3 AG Peterson practice exams and scored 65,65, and 67 without any study.
Opinions? And has anyone seen/used the book that I linked to? I'd appreciate any help - my exam is set for June 22nd.
If you answered slavery, you're ready.
Some of the questions are super specific but theres enough common sense ones that you could totally get and just pass.
And hey - if you fail it, then do your other plan where you take 2 Lower Level CLEP/DSST exams - theres tons of em so just pick the easiest ones that u havent taken yet. Cant hurt. and if you pass it, then Boo - YaH, youre done. And if you dont, study with IC on the two that youll need. At least youll elimate the 6 unit SS/History exam one way or the other.
