I usually buy them used on Amazon or some other online seller. I don't generally pay more than $5 for a book, although I usually get an older version, not the lastest edition. Most of the time that's fine, though, since college textbooks are a complete racket. The new editions almost never have anything siginficantly updated or new in them.
