ENEB New Master Thread

You’re right, eLearner, with one small correction: in an email to me, UI1 confirmed that it’s not accurate to present it that way. While they acknowledged that student use Ui1 only, they suggested using both names or phrasing it as “certified by,” since we are not UI1 students and do not hold an UI1 degree.

@huiwh: I’ve already addressed the substance of your argument in my previous posts. If you wanna believe that certifying is the same as awarding, and ECE’s evaluation has more value over what Uni Isabel and ENEB themselves say, that’s your choice. I'll just end it here.

I can't discount what you may have been told, but my post was based on information I got myself and from accounts of students that asked the question. It's a possibility that you were told something different by a different person at the school than we engaged with.

Question around the final grades. When it comes to evaluations, do 8.5 scores hurt you in any way? My brother has been scoring high marks (e.g., 9+-10); however, he has scored one 8.5, and he asked if it was worth revising and resubmitting for a second attempt. Considering ECE uses S (Satisfactory), independent if you have a 10 or 8 (guessing maybe even 7) for your final grade, should he put the time in?

My ego says yes, but at the end of the day, I am not sure it matters. Thanks for any advice.

Update: He went ahead and made the revisions and, surprisingly, received grades 24h+. ENEB is definitely more efficient in their turnaround compared to when I did the program. Great to see, as I would imagine their student volume is considerably higher now. Perhaps their grading staff (Professors/Tutors)  is a lot higher now to accommodate the volume of papers coming through.

ENEB's policy also seems to have changed since I did the program. I wasn't happy with one of my grades at the time and submitted a revised project. It went ungraded for weeks. When I enquired as to what the hold up was, I was told that second attempts were reserved for failing grades only, and since I hadn't failed, they wouldn't be grading my second attempt.

Thanks, slammX. He confirmed that both of his passing scores were upgraded (90+) with the second submission.

Glad to see that the policy has changed, as that would be a bummer to read 'two attempts' and not be able to improve a score unless on a failed submission. However, I could see their logic as well, taking into account the staff's local costs and the cost to ENEB.

If so, could you please share a screenshot of the email you received saying that your ENEB digital diploma is ready for download? What does it say about the UI1 digital diploma? I would be very grateful for your help

It clearly says there that the UI1 certificate would be available within 90–120 days, and now it turns out they want me to pay for the certificate.

This is why I would like to know whether they are still sending the same message now or if it has changed, so I can fight for my certificate without having to pay.

This was settled years ago. Both ENEB and Isabel told students it's okay to use Isabel on your resume. They don't care. They know that these arrangements are not as well understood outside of Spain, so no need to further complicate things for yourself by listing two schools and then having explain the arrangement and all.

Thanks all, for clarifying this. I thought I had "Missed the memo" on Ui1's "Stance" on ENEB graduates. ENEB is the teaching institution, as clearly stated on the Ui1 diplomas, so I don't see what the issue is with listing Ui1 as the University that has certified the learning from ENEB.  

In other arrangements that I have seen where UK universities work with other institutions is called degree validation. "Degree Validated by (name of UK University with Royal Charter, regulated by the QAA)."  

When a UK University validates the degree awarded by an external teaching institution, my understanding is that this is just as official as attending the validating institution itself.  So far for ENEB and Ui1, the translated language is "Certified" from Titulacion; however, the most recent UNISEB program is "Convalidacion," which translates to "Validation".

Thus the UNISEB validation is arguably a tiny bit more official. If one does not feel comfortable listing Ui1 as the university on the resume with the current certification from Ui1 for the ENEB diploma, perhaps this UNISEB Validation is the way to go. 

As an ENEB student, I get that sometimes we can get very focused on the details. Anyways, for my recent endeavor to try and re-take a Master's portion of a Double (to submit only that portion for an ECE Evaluation as a US RA Bacherlor's) it turned out I was not allowed to take the Master portion of my Double (MBA + Master) as a 60 ECTS  program, as it is considered that I have taken it already as part of the 72 ECTS program.  

I decided to enroll in another ENEB Master's today in Team Leadership and Management. At the very least, I can use that for another ECE Evaluation as a US Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree.  When I apply for a US Master's program in a completely unrelated field in the future, I would like to have 2 Bachelor's Degree equivalents just in case.  As I am moving from Business to an unrelated discipline, and will be taking 3 courses on Study.com as prerequisites. 

I may end up having to use the UNISEB MBA, if I can actually receive a Ui1 Transcript, then ECE may provide a course-by-course evaluation. Only time will tell, as the process does not start until mid-October. I am happy to be the test subject.
