Would you mind if I asked how far you were when you decided on switching? I think it all depends as well as what the "final" goal is for the OP.
If it's having a switch or having a second degree, or even a BSBA CIS and then a Masters in IT or something, it may be easier just to continue with the BSBA if they're so close to the finish line. I would highly recommend the BSBA CIS and then going for a BA CS or a Masters after the BSBA.

I would have to agree with the majority of the posters on here. If you are really close to the first choice degree just finish that so its done and you have that no matter what may or may not happen. Then regroup and decide your next plan of action from there. I can tell you from my experience I though about switching over and over again but I am sticking with my first goal. If I decided to pursue a different degree after that then I will do so. I am still considering WGU for a Masters at this point but It seems they are very writing intensive which I am thinking all masters programs will have so its not a deal breaker.

I'd probably take the CIS degree if you are within two classes.
If you were further out, I'm a fan of the BA CS and then the MBA if you want both a business degree and a tech degree. The MSCS at GA Tech is a ton more work than the WGU MBA and the TESU BA CS. I suspect the eventual MSCS at WGU may be the same as well. For me, there is no chance I will finish a MSCS given current work and family responsibilities.
It might help for us to understand why you think the BA CS is better than the BSBA CIS degree.

Thanks for taking the time to reply everyone. I am planning to follow the advice of most of you and stay on course for the BSBA:CIS.
I started the BSBA:CIS to check the box for HR, but ended up getting a new position. Having the new position took away most of the urgency, so things have stalled out over the last year. A new opportunity has come up that if it works out, I should reconsider a lot of my future plans. One of the graduate programs that may now be on the table requires a Computer Science degree as a prereq. I will see how things work out in the next few weeks.

Good Luck!! I slightly fear being in the same position you are in. I have two paths right now that have the same starting pay and range of promotional opportunity's. One path requires the BSBA and one does not. I am still awaiting the results of the state tests I took in early January so not sure which one I did better on. My fear is getting the path that doesn't require the degree and then it messing up my motivation to finish this. Hopefully I will complete most of the credits prior to the grades even coming out then I would most likely be near finished by the time they started hiring for the positions. Right now I have a schedule to finish all remaining credits by the end of MAY. Grades will probably come out Mid April and by that time I will have over 100 credits and a CLEP scheduled so most likely 106, I am taking BM courses also that end in May so I will def finish those, so add another 8. So I'd probably have a TECEP left at the earliest point to be offered a job (from either of those lists, I am on 7 others right now so never know). Okay I am rambling and posting to much today on the forums, time for me to do something else!!.

It took a couple of months, but things worked out with the new opportunity. Luckily I followed the device here and didn't switch programs. The degree ended up being a requirement and I need to finish ASAP. If I would have switched, I wouldn't be able too.
