Thank you all for taking the time out of your busy schedules to comment on my post!
Much obliged!
From the looks of things, I'll be attending UMPI at the end of May '22. I already sent in an inquiry last month and have yet to send my transcripts formally.
I am currently using https://www.maine.edu/students/transfer-guides/ to help me understand which classes I am lacking, but some of my courses from California do not show a similar equivalency. Does anyone know of a tool that can help me distinguish the equivalency?
@rachel83az
You are right about seeing no foreign language. I am fluent in Tagalog but have not looked into any ACTFL exams. I might take the Instantcert for Spanish for a refresher.
For ENG Comp, I have taken ENGL 1A and 5. Will that meet the requirement of 5A?
Thank you for your thoughts!
@carrytenothing
Thanks for the call-out!
@ss20ts
Thank you for explaining the difference! Do you mind if I PM you about your course planning for BLS MIS?
@bjcheung77
Kamusta an! Thanks for your feedback!
@dfrecore
I appreciate the in-depth recommended courses. May I ask where you are getting the required and equivalent course information? May I have a copy?

I would normally say to take the ACTFL exam, but the only one with Tagalog is the OPI (not the OPIc) and that costs $165. Spanish through InstantCert would be much cheaper.
For GEC requirements, check out http://catalog.umpi.edu/preview_program....3&poid=239

I'm going by common sense and experience rather than a copy of something. You don't need an equivalency chart to show that English Comp I at one school transfers in as English Comp I at another school - it's just generally accepted. Plus we know from experience that UMPI is pretty generous about that type of thing.

To rephrase my previous post a little... since you've already applied and will transfer in 118, it depends what they will accept, and you should wait for an evaluation, then complete what you need (that can't be transferred in) at UMPI - the 30 residency credits. So, if you have some courses missing and you're still waiting for an evaluation, you can use that time to complete the course - such as Spanish I using CLEP/MS or any other ones you find missing and transferable.
Even though you have great resources on this board, none of us work for any of the schools, it's the admins/registrar at the school that will approve any of the courses, it's great to check with a member or two that has gone to the school, but the final say is the admins at that institution. Having applied to the school, you get the "extra heads" at that institution helping you approve any other courses they can for transfers, use them to verify transfer and proceed with recommend classes.

Transferring in 118 credits doesn't mean much though. I transferred in 190+ credits. Only 90 were applied to my degree program. The rest sit there like a credit bank. I still had to complete the degree requirements. You're MUCH better off having 90 credits that can be applied to your degree. Having 118 credits doesn't mean 118 credits that there are 90 credits that can be applied to a degree. They could have 68 credits in auto mechanics and those credits wouldn't be applicable outside of the general electives. Getting the GEC completed except for English Comp is important because many of those classes are a pain at UMPI and you need to complete most of your UL courses at UMPI. There aren't extra heads to approve anything at UMPI. There's 1 person who processes transcripts for 2 U of M schools including UMPI. You actually don't talk with that person about transferring courses either. You work with your academic advisor on that and you need permission to transfer in additional classes once you're enrolled.
