Defscarlett,
You certainly have a good case, plus you have email traffic requesting the addition of this program prior to the 1st of January, which is likely the date any changes might have taken place. Excelsior had a similar change in their Associates of Liberal Arts degree back in December of 2011, I just managed to squeeze in before the capstone took hold.
Good luck.

Well I was able to get them to switch me back so I wouldn't have to take the Capstone. I still can't believe they're requiring a Capstone for an AAS, that still boggles my mind.

I have been matriculated for the last 2 years, I asked for the inclusion of the AAS in Environmental Studies.......... on the middle
of January. Due to the capstone I am removing myself from that program. I have actually finish all the FEMA courses but did not
know about how to redeem them at the beginning. I rather spend my energy in other program rather than going through the capstone.

No I am upset, I just reread this thread and notice the Paragraph where it says "the course will be available in June"; I was down my last 3 credits to complete that degree and I get stuck because of a course that does not exist yet. I opened a thread in the internal forum of TESC about this, hopefully they will answer. Still I do not get it, the advisor sees that I was working to finish this degree, and that there were only a few credits remaining, why tell me that the course is mandatory if it does not exist yet.
I am really upset. Maybe they will have a good explanation tomorrow.

You need to get matched up with the right people at TESC, don't call the expressline or accept a generic email back. Protest the decision and if you need three credits and had FEMA to fill it then you should be done. If that course continues to not exist then it is silly to require it and you should be able to get that waived as a few others have recently. It still doesn't make sense to add the capstone until they can at least offer the course, they added it to all of the AAS degrees (like ESST, Aviation Support, and others). Keep taking your request up a level at a time until you get a straight answer on the matter.
My completed "non-traditional" credits include 27 credits from CLEP, 30 credits from DSST, 6 credits from ALEKS, 19 credits from FEMA courses including PDS, 3 credits from NFA courses, 10 credits from ACE Workplace Training, 3 credits from a TESC TECEP exam, and 3 credits from a TESC PLA course.
