I guess. I'm probably not going to risk it, though.

I submitted a support ticket, and I got the same reply (from the same employee too). The response is pasted below:

Hey I just got off the phone with a lady from TESC today and she said that you had to be enrolled in order to use the old system. I just thought I would throw that out there.

That's not surprising as that's what is stated on TESC's blog. However, several of us got it in "writing" (not hard copy, but in email and through their help ticket system), that being accepted after applying was good enough.
Also, my eval isn't complete yet, but I can go in and see the "skeleton" there. It's all the current/old requirements. My guess is that the answer we've gotten in writing is correct, but I'd urge each person to ask via their help desk and get it in writing as well.

I am brand new here and have been looking at TESC. I did not know they were changing their gen ed requirements 1 Jul. Does anyone know what those changes will be? Do they have something about this on thier webpage?

New requirements are laid out here:
http://www.tesc.edu/academics/courses/Ge...ctives.cfm
and here:
http://multimedia.tesc.edu/newsletters/i...ature.html
Courses that fit in those requirements are listed here:
http://www.tesc.edu/academics/courses/Ge...ourses.cfm
Since these are new requirements there is still some more time before it will be clear what transfer credits will fit where, overall it just looks like a change to make a few more specific requirements over the current list which is categorized but less specific. Their website seems to be going down and then working again today so the links may or may not immediately work. That second link is the only one that seems to work right now while they fix their broken site.
My completed "non-traditional" credits include 27 credits from CLEP, 30 credits from DSST, 6 credits from ALEKS, 19 credits from FEMA courses including PDS, 3 credits from NFA courses, 10 credits from ACE Workplace Training, 3 credits from a TESC TECEP exam, and 3 credits from a TESC PLA course.

The links worked fine for me. Thanks. The list of courses that fit the requirements was very helpful. At least the gen ed can still be satisfied with a lot of CLEP or DSST exams.
I just finished up my 2nd semester in the Virtual College degree program and Fort Hays State University in Kansas. I love the school and the people I have dealth with so far have been super. The only reason I was looking at TESC is because my instructor asked me to as a way to finish my BS earlier than I could at FHSU, and then return to FHSU for my grad degree. He says I am ready for that level of work BUT I still need a BA/BS to get into the program. FHSU accepts a lot of CLEP/DSST exams and ACE credits but they still require 30 residency credits. That is what is hanging me up there. At abt $180 per semester hour, even for those of us out of state, they are much cheaper than the yearly fees charged by TESC. Therefore, the only advantages TESC has over FHSU is that they do accept more CLEP and DSST and only have the capstone course as residency requirement. My only experience with CLEP is US History that I took back in 2006. I am testing the waters here to see how many more I can get through and then decide if I want to continue at FHSU dispite the 30 credit residency requirement or go with the more expensive TESC. Even with the high out of state fees, they might be less expensive in the long run IF I could finish the rest of my course work through exams and finish early. Honestly, figuring the ins and outs of all this is harder than taking a class.

I applied to TESC in Nov 2012 and was moved to inactive status since I didn't pay by May. After reading the posts regarding the curriculum changes I reapplied on June 28 (which was just a simple form to request a status change from inactive to active status + $75). I called the bursar's office to confirm that I would be under the old catalog and they said "yes as long as your paperwork is received by July 1". So I've been "re-accepted" and My Edison account is working again and I will have 6 months to pay tuition.
I just checked my "academic evaluation" for my BSBA and its completely updated with the new catalog requirements. Under the new catalog requirements I would have to take 4 more classes then was previsouly required. Also a lot of my credits are spread around different areas then before. For example, they had counted my Statistics class toward Math/Nat Science requirement and now it has been moved to the Intellectual & Practical skills requirement and there's an additional 3sh statistics class requirement in the Human Cultures core area.
TESC students may want to check their academic evaluations to make sure everything is the way you think it should be.
