ASBA TESC/Saylor -- my tentative degree plan
#11
CariBerry Wrote:What did TESC say? You don't have to do the $4740 for pay by credit do you?

The Per Credit Tuition Plan does not have an enrollment fee. Tuition under this plan is $476 per credit hour for online, guided study, and ePack courses. TECEPs are still $108, and portfolio assessments are still $350 for the first 12 credits and $200 for every 6 credits, or part thereof, thereafter. You can use TECEPs and portfolio assessments to meet the residency requirement. TESC just doesn't make it clear on the website that you can save money by taking TECEPs and/or completing PLAs. The ASBA plan that is on the Saylor website uses the Enrolled Options Plan, but you don't have to complete the ASBA under that plan.

You are considered enrolled for one year once you sign up for a course, portfolio assessment, or TECEP. If you want to stay enrolled for the next year, all you have to do is sign up for another course, portfolio assessment, or TECEP.

I spoke to Kay where we went back and fourth with questions. Application fee and each TCEP fee and grad fee and your good. I just finished my BA in CJ but my enrollment had expired and they wanted me to pay the $290 grad fee plus $409 for enrollment so I can't graduate. I was not happy, but sent the pw in anyway. I'm glad I found this site since I wanted to do a ASBA. If I would have graduated they would not have let me do my ASBA there. Now I get to do both, I save on the enrollment and only have to pay for one grad fee. The only thing is I'm holding up my BA graduation, but I couldn't go to my commencement this year anyway, so I'll do everything next year.

Aren't they going to make you complete 24 credits in residence for the BA?

Not that I know of. I'm submitting my a reactivation form, which is like a new application, which has a $75 fee. That will put my enrollment active and put my new ASBA that I'm pursuing. Doing this will not change my BA requirements or credits I completed. So I'll get two years to complete the ASBA and graduate at the same time with my BA in CJ and ASBA. I get two years to complete it, if not I risk the chance of them changing the requirements for both degrees and have to take more classes. For my BA I completed 21 credits at TESC. I do have to complete 12 credits at TESC for the ASBA. So four TECEPS at TESC and the rest from the outline you provided. This new path I chosen will save me $699, which I will apply to the ASBA, which will now run me about $500 with all fees and grad.
