I really think you should research the dissertation and doctoral timeline process because getting a doctoral degree from a program that goes on semester basis in two semesters highly unrealistic. You're only allowed to take so many classes at one time and you cannot stack other classes with your dissertation sequence. You have to do a lot of writing. Get IRB approval to do your study. In my doctoral program I had to complete a lot of writing and get a ton of approvals before getting IRB
approval. You're friends on facebook saying they went through an entire dissertation in one semester is false and if not maybe you should ask where they went because to me it doesn't make sense. In a master's program you can stack a lot of classes. This is a different ball game.
