Is there any school, like OSU, that accepts 50% of graduate-level credits for doctorates? It would be interesting to know if there are fully online options.

They’re also very generous in accepting transfer credits.....I’ve already inquired about this with another board. South College is another option, but I’ve heard complaints about the number of terms and delays in grading.

I already have a lot of healthcare graduate credits from my involvement in healthcare advocacy and nonprofit initiatives, even though they aren’t directly related to my current job. But if a doctorate comes with a bump in pay, then I think it’s worth pursuing, so Walden, Capella, or Edgewood would make sense.

Where do you live? Edgewood is more expensive if you live in the U.S.

Amberton offers several professional doctorates and PhDs. The Education ones are priced lower than the Business ones, and the business PhD is cheaper than the DBA I think. If you can transfer credits in that might work. ACE has doctorates for ~$25000 but worth seeing about transfer options there as well.

I live in the U.S. but I also travel back home to Asia so it might be possible to get some discount using residency there. Still, OSU seems to be the cheapest option, costing me about $10K less, and it could be completed in two semesters if everything goes smoothly.
I really wanted South College, but given that you can’t complete it in one term, and I understand the dissertation takes time, although I see some complete it in one term and brag in the Facebook group, it seems the DHCA at OSU might be the best bet.
$10K is really too much, so the cost factor makes OSU very appealing.

Interesting, How do you get a discount? How did you get to that price point? I'm reading their DHCA, even if you transfer in 30 credits from a Masters/Doctorate program (up to 30 credits), you still have 34 credits to go.  For non residents, it's expensive, even with the online only option, it's roughly $364/credit, that's $12K right there.  And then there are the extra fees as per their tuition page here: Tuition, Fees & Financial Aid | Oklahoma State University

Not exactly at your price point, but the University of the Cumberlands offers an EdD program for $415 per credit, which requires 60 credits; however, 18 credits can be transferred in. It will cost approximately $17,500, which is relatively affordable for an RA-accredited doctorate.
Degrees In Progress:
EVMS Doctor of Health Science
Completed Degrees:
Doctor of Healthcare Administration Dec 2021
Masters of Business Administration July 2022
Masters of Public Administration '19
Masters of Arts in Urban Affairs '17
Masters of Arts in Criminal Justice '16
Bachelors of Science in Police Studies '14
Advanced Graduate Certificate in Criminal Investigations '15

I recently obtained a PhD from the Cumberlands. I wholeheartedly recommend UOC. I got the maximum amount of credit transferred in. I took two classes per term, and it still took me ~2 years to complete.

Like many have already said,  a doctorate is a totally different type of education. It's not an extended master. For me and many, it was the most soul sucking, rewarding experience of my life

Cumberlands is not giving away doctorates. I've seen so many crash and burn during comps. A doctorate is a lifestyle change that affects everything and everyone around you. Not trying to discourage you, just give you advice I wish I had on the onset.
PhD,  DNP, MBA, MSIO

That is awesome to hear. I was curious, do you have a prior nursing background? I see you have a DNP

I was quoted the price with all fees if I transfer 30 credits. So that’s still less than 12k and potentially 2 semester overload.

I really think you should research the dissertation and doctoral timeline process because getting a doctoral degree from a program that goes on semester basis in two semesters highly unrealistic. You're only allowed to take so many classes at one time and you cannot stack other classes with your dissertation sequence. You have to do a lot of writing. Get IRB approval to do your study. In my doctoral program I had to complete a lot of writing and get a ton of approvals before getting IRB
approval. You're friends on facebook saying they went through an entire dissertation in one semester is false and if not maybe you should ask where they went because to me it doesn't make sense. In a master's program you can stack a lot of classes. This is a different ball game.

That OSU program does not have a dissertation. That is not unheard of with professional doctorates.

Some professional doctorates do have some type of end of program project also. The original poster was the one to say that their friends on facebook completed a dissertation in one semester. There is nothing wrong to suggest researching it. The OP went along with the dialogue of their being a dissertation so I assumed that there was one. It does not benefit me to click and research every school mentioned on this board I am finished with school.
