If your goal is to use PELL then you need to work out a plan that maximizes it. PELL will not work for credit by exam (DSST/CLEP/TECEP) nor straighterline. If the goal is PELL funded then COSC might be better but to access those funds you will need to be enrolled in classes for at least 6 credits/semester (for half the grant), and 12 credits/semester (for the full grant). This can be accomplished via a "consortium" agreement and you could test out of the rest. Or in COSC's case maybe use free FEMA credit.
Yes, complete FAFSA first and see where you stand....but using PELL funds changes the dynamic (and its what I did and its the reason I chose COSC).
