Studying Tip
#1
I'm not sure why this never occurred to me before but it is proving quite helpful quickly. Go look up the ACE description of the course!
It was like a lightbulb went off when I thought of it.
Now I'm sure many of you do this on the regular but I felt that it has helped so tremendously on focusing and narrowing down my study materials that I needed to post it for the "me"s of the world

Not sure what you are saying here, Not sure what your going to get out of the ACE description you cant get from the Course itself. Or in the event of a CLEP or DSST exam what you won't get from the sites and there description.

Isn't the ACE description pretty sparse? Looking at exam/course objectives would be a better move i'd think.

I would definitely look at the exam/course description directly from the provider. The ACE description can be vague and possibly even wrong.

For instance, for a DSST, it tells not only what the exam covers IN DETAIL, but the % of each section represented on the exam. For CLEP's, they also give you a % of what is covered. That's much more helpful in narrowing down what I should be studying for than anything else. I would study more for the things that have a larger %, and less (or not at all) for things with a lower %.

As an example, the CLEP US History I guide (on the CLEP website) tells you that 35% of the exam is politics, while 10% is economics. I'm certainly going to spend more of my time studying politics and economics, I can guarantee you that. On the DSST College Algebra exam, they cover Complex Numbers at 5%,and Functions at 20%. I'm going to spend zero time studying complex numbers.

Use the exam guides or syllabi to figure out what you need to spend your time on.
