Congrats, Susan! How exciting!!!

I reached out to Amberton about a capstone and was so glad to hear that for the MS in HR and Bis, there isn't one!!!!

"No, there are no capstones required for this program; however, this could change if you opt to take a course that is considered a capstone like MGT6203 - Strategic Management."

Thanks so much!!!  I’m finally in a good place and can have time while working to do it so I figured, why not now because it’ll never be the perfect time.  Yeah, no capstone was a big deal and I didn’t realize that class was considered a capstone! Thanks for pointing that out, I need to ask my advisor about that because there are 2 certificates I want to get with this degree.  Luckily none of the carts I were looking at have that class but there may be others like that and that would def sway my decision.

Thanks for popping in to give me the WOOT!!!

It's considering the capstone course in the MBA programs. You can take it after you complete 12 credits in management. If you read the syllabus it's not a true capstone course. Everyone who takes the course will not have completed the same courses prior to taking it. I'm taking it in the fall.

When you get up to the graduate/Masters level, it's generally those options to select from.

Nope, other than I know Susan hates writing, and it would be music to her ears! LOL

There's a lot of writing at Amberton. Very few exams. I had 3 classes this session. Here's my coursework:

Class 1:
5 papers including a graduate research paper
1 quiz
6 discussions

Class 2:
10 discussion researched and cited posts with 2 researched and cited responses
1 research paper
1 midterm exam
1 final exam

Class 3:
5 discussion posts
16 papers

Every student has to take class 3 which there are 2 versions of - religious and non-religious. 10 of those papers were 2 pages long but you had to write 2 or 4 in 1 week. It's a very writing intensive course.

You are going for the MBA?  I’m expecting to do writing but I will also be choosing courses that are more exam heavy or discussion questions.

How different have the discussions been for grad vs undergrad?

I’m with Suzy.  The less writing the the better!  That’s why I chose a less “popular” school with this forum.  Hopefully it works out for everyone.  Big Grin

I start July 5, but I already have access to the first week, the full syllabus and they sent me one of the books I will need.
