Are my credits too old to transfer?

If you have old DSST or CLEP exams, would it make sense to have them sent to ACE? Since CLEP has a 20-year window, and ACE doesn't?

I am not worried about the Troy State credits, or the comp. sci. credits at all, because I left that career field a long time ago, and don't plan to go back. When I left SUNY Fredonia, I was very close to finishing my BA in English Lit. Education; I think I needed 9 credits or so. I am self employed now, so finishing the degree is more for my ego than for career prospects. My goal is to plug in all my credits into some sort of Liberal Arts degree, and fill in whatever gaps TESC, COSC, or Excelsior requires.

That's too hard of a question. What a potential college will accept instead of an official transcript? Uhhh there is no way to know.

Are they already on a transcript somewhere or still unused?
If they are unused, I would suggest getting an official CLEP transcript and just hanging on to it. I don't know if you can get your CLEP onto ACE (never thought about it?) but if they are on a transcript, you're at least accomplishing as much as if you had them on an ACE transcript.

You have a lot of credits, so it's going to come down to a lot more uncertainty than if you came here starting from scratch. The cost and time are going to depend on how you fill the gaps- 100% of the time that's where the work is. If your finances allow, I would suggest getting an evaluation from all 3 schools. Again, it's not a case of "well I need 12 credits here, and 21 there, so 12 wins" because "how" you hit those credits at one school may be miles easier than at another, and we can't really say without them doing evaluations. Keeping in mind the Capstones too, so there are several reasons I would suggest applying at all 3 (and you can find a dozen posts where I tell someone it's a waste of money doing that- I think your case is an exception).

Thanks for the advice. I applied to Excelsior today, and requested transcripts be sent there. I will work on applying to the other 2 this week.

I had old nursing credits - not transferrable for nursing at Excelsior. However, I was doing the BS in Lib Arts, so they transferred at electives. Fine with me!

I don't think so. All of mine were in the '80s and not a one was turned down.
