BACS/BSBA CIS - Transferring Credits
#1
Special shout out to all the support @bjcheung77 has been providing. My question is does TESU allow credit to be transferred in after enrollment or after I get my credits evaluated? That would make things easier considering I will be transferring in from 3 different schools.

Yes! In fact, enrolling unlocks unlimited transfer evaluations (try not to abuse it). It makes TESU one of the easier schools to work at your own pace. Enroll today!  Big Grin

TESU is one of the few schools out there where you can transfer in anything at any time without any fuss. Of course they'll recommend you get things cleared and pre-planned by advising, but you don't need permission or a waiver and there are no fees (with active enrollment). Simply send in transcripts when appropriate and the credits should land on your eval in a few weeks.

@MortySanchez, Thanks!  As mentioned, you can send in your transcripts to get the evaluations completed anytime after you've enrolled...  I just reviewed your first post/thread, you were looking at UMPI and now looking at TESU, is there a specific degree you're looking for?  You may want to complete the addendum/template, we can see which degree and school may be a better fit for you... TESU has two stages for students: applicant status and full enrollment.

Applicant status begins immediately after you submit your application. This gives you two free evaluations. In theory, this should be a first evaluation of all classes/transcripts and then a second evaluation some weeks or months down the line when you send in more transcripts. In practice, this is often an evaluation of exactly two transcripts. If any of your transcripts are paper ones, TESU typically counts those as a separate evaluation. If all transcripts are electronic, they might evaluate them all at once and only count them as one evaluation. It's tricky.

To remove all ambiguity, it's recommended that students move to full enrollment status as soon as possible. Full enrollment status is achieved by either taking a TESU class (not recommended: too expensive) or paying for a TECEP exam. The $52 Medical Terminology TECEP is all that it takes in order to obtain full enrollment status. You do not have to take the exam. Indeed, for the $52 Medical Terminology exam, we explicitly recommend against taking it! This will allow you to pay for it again in about 12 months if you haven't yet completed your degree. Consider the $52 to be a yearly enrollment fee. Pretty cheap/low-cost, all things considered.

We also advise students to send in transcripts with new classes every month or every other month (and not more frequently than that). This will get those classes onto your TESU transcript "permanently". In the event that TESU stops accepting a certain class, having it already on your transcript doesn't change. But, if you have not yet transferred it to TESU, you're out of luck if acceptance changes. Some students in the past have gotten burned by not transferring in their completed classes often enough.

@MortySanchez, depending on your certain scenario, you can follow the degree plan for BACS on the WIKI here, in the odd chance you have similar courses required for both the BACS/BSBA CIS dual degree (if the courses are the same/similar to what is on the WIKI, you just need an extra 4-5 courses for the second degree), you can follow either LevelUP or Rachel83AZ's plans as well: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Category:TESU

Hello everyone !

I don't see the BSBA in CIS available on the OSS evaluation portal. Is there a reason for that or do I need to reach out to someone?

It's listed under "Computer Information Systems, BS" now. Confusing.

Yeah, they've made some changes to their naming scheme and updated their list in the "What If" tool.

Exactly, I wonder what would happen when they change to the new system in a few days, more confusion to come...
