I am not sure if the wiki is correct about those 12 hours or if there was an exception made in my case.

30 credit hours must be taken at UMPI. Of these, a minimum of 12 credits must be in the minor
and 18 credits must be upper level. These 18 upper level credits taken at UMPI may be taken as
part of the GEC, the minor, or as elective credit.

Those are the rules posted on the wiki. If they made an exception, that is interesting.
My degree plan section on the minor looked like this:

For a BAS or BLS minor, each one may already have 6 UL credits of the 18 credits in the minor, there aren't enough UL to cover the 18 in the BAS or 24 in the BLS. Thus, instead of randomly taking credits towards that requirement, you can add a minor or two and in turn, add the UL credits needed.  For reference: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...#pid373004

With a BAS in MIS, can I add a history & political science minor?  Normally the history & political science minor is a BA, so I am not sure I can.  Would I have to take the whole 48/49 credits required for the BA in History & Political Science or could I just take a certain number of hours in that field and have a second minor in that?

Yeah, you can have a history minor, political science minor, or both... here's a thread I created at the beginning of 2022 listing all the minors available to choose from, the only thing, getting the required credits are not in the Your Pace program for most of these, for History/Political science, these courses are on the Your Pace platform!
