I need to take business policy and 2 computer science (300-400 level ) courses to finish my degree). If I complete (MCSA): SQL Server 2012 certification will I get credit from TESC?
Anyone got credit for CIS electives? They gave me 6 credits for community college course. If you know any plan for CIS electives, please share with me.
Thanks.

Have you taken the Management Information Systems DSST? I also heard the Networking Technologies TECEP will fit into the CIS specialization. You can earn 2 upper level CIS credits for free through TEEX.

I got a bunch of CIS electives from my old MCSE and MCSD.
And yes the TECEP and MIS DSST works.
I strongly recommend taking a course at TESC if you have no other options though. I took computer architecture and really enjoyed it.
BSBA CIS from TESC, BA Natural Science/Math from TESC
MBA Applied Computer Science from NCU
Enrolled at NCU in the PhD Applied Computer Science

you need to get them added to an ACE transcript and then submit that transcript to TESC. This thread has my experience:

ok.
thanks.
So, MCSA, ace approved,
ACE CREDIT | The National Guide to College Credit for Workforce Training
70-410, 70-411, 70-412 (MCSA server 2012) would get me with 2 credits each would get me 6 LL credits (according to the ACE website).
any idea if they can be used in "II. B. Area of Study Electives"? or "III. Free Electives"?
I also have (70-480), according to ACE, this gets me 3 UL Credit.
so questions.
a. not what they map to for TESC subjects.
b. not sure if they overlap.
c. not sure if there is a limit of how many microsoft subjects can be transfererd.
d. not sure which section i can use them. (Free Electives/Business Electives/Area of Study-Required Subjects /Area of Study-Electives)
thanks.

Watch for how many UL you have for the Specialization part of the AoS. If you do not have enough, that may kick them down to Business Electives and then to Free Electives.
If they are evaluated as CIS, they might be able to be used as part of the specialization, but if they are CAP, they might not be. Basing that off of what happened with a programming class, not a cert exam.
