100% this. the BALS is a generic degree to check a box for employers who require a degree, any degree.

The BACS checks that box above, but adds even more marketability.

@gams007, could you elaborate on what you're trying to do? Is there a specific goal you're needing the prerequisites for? It really depends on the person and their goals, some people like the extra degree for a specific reason, personal or professional. I would only recommend someone complete the BALS with a concentration such as Social Science or Psych if they're planning to also get a Masters in a similar field down the road. Example, BALS Psych > MS Psych and for their second-degree BACS > MSCS.

There really isn't a need for a BALS without a concentration unless it's your first degree and you need it quick, otherwise, the BACS will do the 'check the box' already for applications to higher education or employment. I forget who, but someone on here is working on a BALS, the second BALS but with a different concentration, and it's because they want two different concentrations a couple or three years apart, I'm not here to stop them, I just wanted to know their reason behind it...

If you already got the BA Computer Science. You'd need 24 new credits in the AOS and have to take the capstone again and pay the waiver fee again if you didn't reach 16 credits total at TESU. All of a pointless degree that is a step down from your comp sci degree. Also your Comp Sci degree is a BA (as opposed to a BS) so if you are trying for liberal arts grad programs I feel like you'd be off to a good start with just that.
