Why would you bother with the master's degree if it doesn't lead to a specific job other than for personal enrichment purposes? I can understand checking the box with a bachelor's degree, but not for a master's degree since there aren't a lot of jobs that just want a generic master's degree. I guess this could be helpful in the education field.

If I'm going to get a degree in nothing, it better be dirt cheap. This one costs too much.

I have 12 graduate credits available but I'm struggling with taking coursework in subjects that bore me.  So this degree sounds appealing as the PS courses all interest me without a restriction.  I don't need it for a job, but I'd love to take out another student loan to purchase another property.  I could move out of the place I live in now and rent that one out, it would yield double the loan and mortgage payment. Smile

In fact, by the end of the summer, I should have a total of 18 grad credits.  Once the masters is done I could focus more on accumulating certificates -- I've been looking at the University of Florida or even add a few offered by Bellevue.

I forgot that you're using student loans to fund your real estate business.

Why would anyone else want this degree?

I think Dave's audience is a little different, most of his followers get student loans and then go on cruises or something like that.  They do highly questionable stuff with money  Smile

Well it turns out my degree plan has been approved. I transferred in the following courses:

ECON 5010 Common Sense Economics
ECON 6347 US Economic History for Teachers 1
ECON 6335 Economic Demise of the Soviet Union
PSC 5110 Common Sense Government
IELP 5592 Consumerism & Family Finance

-------------------------------------------------------------
I chose political science courses in homeland security to complete my degree as I had 24 undergrad homeland security credits and I loved the subject.

PS 500 National Security, Transnational Interests
PS 639 Cyberwar and Cyberdeterrence
PS 505 Comparative Intelligence Cultures
PS 615 Political Islam & Terrorism: Understanding Martyrs and Messiahs
PS 620 Transnational Crime & Corruption: The Dark Side of Globalization

Plus three 1 credit portfolio courses.

My first course has six books, so hopefully this goes smooth. This is my 13th college Smile

Thank you for posting those cheap and easy graduate credit courses ErieHiker! I also found what IELP stands for

IELP Integrative & Engaged Learning - Professional Development

https://catalog.suu.edu/content.php?cato...nto=search

They’ve also changed in the latest catalog that the 5000 level courses are no longer called graduate but rather professional development.
