Can anyone tell me how the CLEP College Composition Modular WITHOUT essay is transcripted at TESC? What is it's equivalency and how many credits?
Their website gives this information: ENC-101-CE College Composition Modular passing score: 50 3 credits
But, it doesn't say if the essay is required or not. I'm not an enrolled student yet so can't ask an advisor. When I call or e-mail TESC, I get conflicting answers to my question.
Thanks for your help!

If you have another writing course that gets transcipted as ENC-102 you do not need to take the College Comp modular with essay. If you do not have a writing course that is ENC-102 or higher already you will have to take the CCM with essay exam.
I went through this issue with TESC advisors. I have 3 prior credits in writing and took the CCM without essay. I did not always get this straight answer from the TESC team, but this is how it works. Good luck.

I don't think technical writing CLEP will transcribe as ENG 102 either
i know i will run into the same issue as you, since i did fail (49/50 the CLEP w/ essay). I think i am going to use the CLEP to get by the prereq and take this course

If anyone has better ideas let me know, cause soon enough i will be in your same boat.

I do have a 4 credit English Composition class which is transcripted at TESC as ENC-102, so I only need two more credits. Has your CCM without essay been transcripted at TESC yet? And does it now show that you have met the English Comp. requirement?
Thank you for sharing your experience,

It will work if you have ENC-102 met already.
In my case I had ENC-101 met with a 4 credit CC course. I took the full College Composition exam worth six credits and this happened:
ENC-101 Freshman Composition ENGC1101 (from my Community College) 4 Credits
ENC-102 College Composition ENC-102 (half of the six credit CLEP) 3 Credits
ENC-101 College Composition ENC-101 (shows up at the bottom of the eval as a "DUP" course since it is duplicated credit)
In total it gave me 7 credits when I needed 6 and then reduced my General Ed Elective Requirement by 1. Kind of neat trick. For you I would expect it to give you three credits in ENC-101 and then give you the same overage I have (with the overage on ENC-102 instead of ENC-102).
My completed "non-traditional" credits include 27 credits from CLEP, 30 credits from DSST, 6 credits from ALEKS, 19 credits from FEMA courses including PDS, 3 credits from NFA courses, 10 credits from ACE Workplace Training, 3 credits from a TESC TECEP exam, and 3 credits from a TESC PLA course.
