I am a literature / humanities - oriented person who has major trouble with math and science.
I saved my toughest exams, CLEP College Math & CLEP Natural Science, for the end and am stressing about passing..
I took the College Board Study Guide Practice tests for both and got about 60% of the questions correct.
Do you think I'm okay to take the exams?
I'm not trying for an 80, just want to get these over with.

60% sounds like ready to me. If you want more reinforcement (i.e. you want to be more sure of a pass so you don't have to take the classes, & therefore don't want to be caught off guard by subjects you're not crazy about) Take the Peterson practice tests. They have more questions and will give you a little more experience with the level and content of the CLEP. Good luck.

I have only taken the Natural Sciences test, but I highly recommend Princeton's Cracking the Clep review test. It was the most like the real test in format and content. Even if you don't have that available to you, I would still say go for it. 60% should be enough to pass the real thing! I know you can do it!

I took both tests yesterday -- 54 on Natural Science (whew!) and a 69 on College Math.
If anyone out there is unsure of whether they should take College Math or not, DO IT. I am NOT a math person, and it was soooo much easier than I expected. I was shocked when I finished and saw that I still had 30 minutes left on the timer.
When I was halfway through math, I actually thought, I know I've gotten everything right up to this point, so I can totally wing it now hehe. (I didn't, but that's how easy it seemed.)

Thank you so much!! I've been stressing over this math CLEP for about a month now.. But I'm encouraged.. I'm taking it May 5th.. just want it over with!
Lord willing, I will get my degree in Foreign Languages (Italian) and CLEP out of most of it!

Hey thanks.. well, I did a lot of videos from the library, brushing up on basic algebra. I also got a very cheap Peterson's CLEP book off half.com. That book is helpful because it explains EVERYTHING. I've done the IC flashcards a bit.. there's like a million on them and I got a little overwhelmed with that.
The BEST resource I found was a link on the discussion forum.. I'll see if I can find the name and tell you.
Man I hope I pass.

Lot's prayers going up for this one.

thanks for the link! I will have to check that out.
I am really nervous because I have never taken a CLEP exam. I am taking the College Mathematics one in 2 days. Do any of the questions require you to use a calculator? Should I bring one?
It is so weird to me that the whole thing is on line. Do they give you scratch paper to work on?

Also for that website, scroll to the bottom of the lessons, they have very helpful practice problems (on some of the links). "CoolMath" has good practice problems too.
Yes you have pencil and paper.. also there are usually ear plugs available if you want them.
From what I've read, you can use a basic calculator, I think there's one on the screen to use. I'm going to try and bring my own.
Good for you!! Go get it! People have told me to really know probability, functions and their graphs and the mean, median and mode thing..
Let me know how you do!! If possible, try to remember what kind of questions you had!
Good luck! You can do it!!
