I raised a ticket over the weekend and knew I was not gonna get a response until today. I had asked to know whether I could take ENC 102= English Comp II before ENC 101 since 102, which was not offered as online exam yet has been sent to my proctor and 101, which is available online and for which I registered, will not be available until May 1. I had calculated that the 102 will arrive to my proctor before May 1. I also asked whether it matters if I took my remaining exams in any order. The response I got suggested that:
1) It doesn't matter what order one takes TECEP
2) International Candidates are not yet able to test using ProctorU
Here is a part of the mail I got. I wished to share this here just to let others know that it seems TECEPS, though can be taken via ProctorU, are not available to international testers yet.
Quote:You can take the exams in any order that is comfortable for yourself . Students test at different levels for all the exams. The test questions would probably make more sense if you take ENC-101 first. Please keep in mind I mailed a paper/pen exam for all three TECEP exams you registered for, since International sites have not been able to test through our ProctorU online service. The connections is normally far away and will time or kick you out of the server before you can complete the exam.
Please keep in mind you can only complete the exam paper/pen or online. You are not allowed to complete the exam in both formats. All correspondences are documented to your files.
I hope this helps!

Ok, that's not a good thing so what's the problem foreign ISPs not on their "safe" list or you still need a social security number and U.S driving license? Planning a visit to the U.S.A yet Sahara? you might want to see if you can take Uexcel exams in Germany or Switzerland through persons offices there and see if they'll take them.
Don't forget that gaining college credit by taking exams is one of the reason's we're here. That's mainly possible through the flashcards made available by the owner of this forum : InstantCert Plus of course your hard work in learning and reviewing

A follow up response I got was that:
Quote:Just to be sure we are on the same page about your May2014 TECEP exams. All three paper/pen TECEP exams were mailed to your requested site 4/25/2014. With International Testing you will need to complete paper/pen exams. Because of server issues studentsâ have not been able to complete exams online through our ProctorU service. The proctor should have the paper/pen exams early this week. This will allow you to complete all of them before the end of this month as per your inquiry. We also grade the exams soon immediately once they have been returned to our office. Unless there is an essay involved it would take an additional week or two for a grader to post results.
So, while I am not aBle to take TECEP online, I am willing to take the paper version. They sent the first 3 TECEPS via FEDEX and I am paying about $163 for postage of exams to my proctor and also to return answers back to the US. It seems exams grading are now done very fast. This will be super cool. I am eyeing graduating by September with an AA and a BSBA.

If I were willing and able to go to Germany, I would have got a lot of CLEP and DSST on my credit belt. My schedule has been such that I am unable to travel that far. I also had the fear of scheduling hotels, running here and there... But, for the TECEPS, I will settle for pen/paper. Only price I might have to pay is to wait until the exams get graded and grades posted to my account.

I sent an email to testing@tesc.edu because I want to take TECEPS, but I live in Indonesia. The reply I received said that as long as I have a strong internet connection and a web cam then I can use the online option for TECEP exams. The only ones that are not available are ENC-102-TE & ENG-201-TE.

This is the strangest thing. I'm an international student at TESC under the Per Credit Hour plan, and I've signed up for 7 TECEP's to be taken by the end of August. Though I haven't asked specifically, there's nothing in their confirmation emails to suggest I won't be able to take them online.

What is that even supposed to mean? I've taken over 7 Straighterline exams from ProctorU with my " far away" exotic outpost internet connection, and it's all gone just fine.

I equally took all my Straighterline courses with ProctorU and never had any problems with my internet connection. I have registered for 3 TECEPs when someone at the testing office told me I wouldn't be able to do so. My confirmation email also did not suggest I won't be able to take my TECEPs online. One thing I have come to observe about TESC is that, one person tells you white, another person tells you its black. To be sure, you may raise a ticket and direct it to Ms Cora Sandy. She was the one who told me foreign students are not able to take TECEP online yet. I wish I was able to take them online so I can get my grades in on time and file from graduation come September.

September is what I really craze for. But, with the pen on paper exam and how long it takes for them to be graded (not even counting possible re-sits of paper), I am not even sure whether September is feasible any longer.
