I am getting very interested in obtaining the Cisco CCENT and CCNA certifications. Thoughts?

CompTIA A+ is not a networking cert and won't help much with Cisco. There's a quite a bit of cross over between CCENT and CompTIA Network+, so you could do Net+ before CCENT, but it's kind of a waste because CCENT trumps Net+ anyway. A+ is the lower entry level cert to IT in general, it's very light on networking content.
