I am not an expert on most of the areas but it looks right to me except for Aleks Begining Algebra, if you can find the right TESC advisor you might get Mat-102 General Math (I did). Also you don't list any of the Excelsior exams TESC does not list them but I am sure someone here has taken most of them. I took Literacy Instuction in the Elementary school and TESC gave me 6 Upper level credits for EDU-321

Fundamentals of Counseling COU262-DE transcribes as UL, Intro to Counseling PSY331, at TESC.

FYI, although it's listed under human services it can also be used as a social science course (same for criminal justice).

I love Type-A OCD folks, it makes me feel normal :willynilly: so kudos.

This is generally a good guide. There are small details that you can't really worry about, but are worth mentioning. In some majors, a course is applied differently than in another major. For instance, business is a popular major and you'll see different application of a social science or maths (like macroeconomics, business stats, etc) and this is true of FEMA in the Emergency. But, generally speaking, your paper is very very good and will help many people.

If you *really* wanted to hit this hard (and I've never had the motivation to do so) you could seek out people here who are in some of those majors and ask them about how their credits were applied. I think business, criminal justice, and emergency management (associate especially) would be the 3 more popular ones that people here seek. A modification/variation would look like this:

ALEKS Business Statistics, MAT201 (Business Majors only: OPM351, upper level)

I'm confused here because the catalog has it listed as COU-262, so I wasn't going to depend on it for UL credit.

Hi sanantone,

Fundamentals of counseling II is listed in the PLA database as COU-262. I gather somewhere along the line the exam was reevaluated and reclassified as Introduction to counseling PSY331. I can only assume the change went into effect when the associated course became available at TESC but I have no idea. Maybe someone from before my time (fall 2009) will chime in.

Hope this adds more clarity.

From my evaluation:
2.. PSY-331... Introduction to Counselin 3.00 CR PSY-331 *NE

edit: Just did a little research on this board and found an answer to how/when the change may have gone into effect:

Thank you. I will call to make sure they haven't changed their minds, but I don't think I'll need it as UL anyway.

Does anyone know if there is a list of Uexcel and/or ECE exam equivalencies anywhere? (Is Uexcel the same thing as ECE?)

Thank you for the idea to add ECE tests to the list.

I appreciate your feedback.

UExcel and ECE's are separate exams though both are affiliated with Excelsior. UExcel's are a joint venture between Excelsior and Pearson. As for equivalences, I'd imagine most of them would match up with their CLEP counterparts (Calculus, Spanish, Intro to Psych) since both (UExcel and CLEP) are lower level credit at most schools. May be worth checking out with a TESC advisor.

All of the Uexcel exams are lower level, but most of the ECE exams are Upper level. I had to appeal but I gave TESC better data they followed the Excelsior guidline.
