Completing 2 bachelor degrees at UMPI
#1
Does anyone know if it is permitted to graduate with two bachelor degrees at UMPI with YourPace? For instance doing a bachelor of english or history first, and afterwards doing a business degree? I assume that a student would have to complete the 30 residency credits  twice? Regarding minors, are they strictly reserved for BALS degrees, or is it possible to do minors with the business degree?

Yes

There is no such thing as a "BALS".  That's called BLS
Degrees: BA Computer Science, BS Business Administration with a concentration in CIS, AS Natural Science & Math, TESU. 4.0 GPA 2022.
Course Experience:  CLEP, Instantcert, Sophia.org, Study.com, Straighterline.com, Onlinedegree.org, Saylor.org, Csmlearn.com, and TEL Learning.
Certifications: W3Schools PHP, Google IT Support, Google Digital Marketing, Google Project Management

Thank you for providing a link. The only exception to the rule appears to be BLS or BAS degrees. And the student apparently has the choice between doing a dual or a double degree. I am not sure what is preferable. I guess I will have to give this some thought.

UMPI is very flexible. You need to decide if you want a MAJOR or a MINOR. You can stack multiple minors OR multiple majors, and graduate with all at one time in one fell swoop. But, you will need to talk to Jessica winslow about your plan and get it all planned out with her.

Thank you. I will most likely do that after thinking this through. I am still at the stage of taking a ton of courses at Sophia. UMPI is at the moment my first choice. This is due to a combination of flexibility, choice of degrees and very low price.

Do you know if UMPI takes foreign students who are not residents in the US? WGU has chosen not to offer education to foreign students, so I have become a little unsure if this policy is widespread.

UMPI is very friendly to international students. They actually are on the border of the United States and Canada, so Canadians are common there too.

UMPI definitely allows foreign students who are not in the US. While WGU is not alone, that attitude probably isn't as common as you might expect.

Yes, UMPI accepts international students. You'll need to send your transcripts through WES. When you are ready to apply, you'll need to contact UMPI YourPace Admissions and find out exactly what they will require from you.

If you're doing a BA English or History and then a BA in Business Admin, that should be fine. So, if you're doing a BA with a Major and another BA in a completely different major, that works wonders! Their only have one requirement for second degrees, it can't be a BAS or a BLS as the degree is a general education degree with a broad range of courses and may overlap too many with your first degree.
