Does the DSST test still exist? And, if yes, how do you sign up for it? And, is there any way to get it for really cheap?

Yes it exists

You have to sign up at your local test center. On the DSST website, you can find a test center. Many colleges and universities are test centers for DSST even if they don't accept DSST credit.

It is $85 for a DSST plus whatever the testing center charges as a fee (anywhere from $0 - $40). It doesn't get any cheaper. Everyone once and a while there are discounts on the DSST website, but that is it. Other than that it is full price.

That is correct. You do it all at the test center. Be sure to bring your credit card to the test center. You sign up and pay right before you take the test.

I made an account online before going to the test center. Probably not necessary but I like to do this step at home since I can. Then you enter your login/password when you get to the center.

Warning: When you sign up it is very easy to miss the part where you fill in the school code. If you miss that part, you end up having to pay extra for a transcript. I believe it's $30, maybe $35. I warned someone else on this forum (that I couldn't get my free transcript) and unfortunately they still missed filling theirs in. So I would recommend checking forms at least twice. Especially if you are doing it at the test center, because then you may feel a little more rushed.
