Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone has used a Certified Nursing Assistant course for credit through TESC. I'm planning on taking one through my local county tech school, and it's listed as being three credits, but I'm not sure if it would be accepted. Anyone else been down this road before?
Thanks!

TESC only accepts some certifications, courses from regionally-accredited schools, and ACE-approved courses. If you actually become a certified nursing assistant, there is a chance TESC will give you credit for the certification. If the course you're taking is from a regionally-accredited school or ACE-approved, TESC will most likely give you credit for it. Whether it'll be counted as a free elective or something else depends on the contents of the course and chosen degree program. TESC does deem some as developmental and won't give credit for them.

Call them. I believe I asked TESC about it before, and if I remember correctly the answer was no. But that was a while ago.

Check and call for yourself to be sure.

CNA classes can be taught for CREDIT or CEU credit, they are not the same. If you are taking it at an RA community college for credit, then yes, the credit will transfer. Likely as free elective.
If you take it for CEU, then you're out of luck. (mine was CEU, even with a state license = no credit)

I took a CNA class too, but it was for ceu's. I was out of luck at TESC so I did a portfolio through learningcounts.org for credits.
