Degree Plan, help? I
#41
The one that gives me the least hassle, wins the cash prize.

I am not "afraid" to do some effort... but solo, pure solo/isolated. So the institution that allows the most xfer credits, with the least additional requirements, inside a sane (to a Canadian mindset) costing scheme ... wins (TESU , UMPI? .. seem most suggested for this?)

not sure about the "great experiment" university (Excelsior)
UoP seems more hassle than its worth (I have tried, they want attendance of async classes)

Basically, you want to go to a school that allows the maximum transfer of 75% or 90 credits towards a Bachelors degree of your choice, be it Business, CS, IS/IT, PM, etc. Most of our institutions we recommend are the tried and trusted ones, I did a spreadsheet for myself in comparing these institutions using four different ranking sites and composed my own compilation, all of our recommendations are in the top 10% in the nation, except COSC, it's in the top 12.5%...

Essentially, look at the CBE WIKI, in addition to the Big 3, and create your own program list to select from. Get the 90+ transferable credits, don't work on too many electives as those can be done quickly, work on the general education credits that can transfer to any/all of the institutions you may want to transfer to, you just then need to get the 'major' requirements at the institution you want to complete the degree with. It's that straight forward and simple, 90 + 30.

Cost... Note?

$25/credit on front end (backend to "official record" will be like $400+ for sure) Its cheaper than FEMA IS credits (via FCC $90/credit) overall I think?? Assuming one earns 6+ credits

But these are RA and Graded, so "useful to most" students? (many more than listed on wiki)

///

Crazy thought, about getting "un-transcribed" credits "transcribed":

Students that use, lets say AUS's on-demand LMS and get credits taken with ASU transcribed (RA to boot)... could they not use the "powers of AUS" to pay (of course) ASU for a transcription of what credits they previously have that are not (ie Harvard/Edx CS50x)? ... this could "save" the trouble of having them transcribed later

or is this the definition of "credit smuggling" (heard it, assumed its meaning)?

Forgive me if this is a foolish or stupid question.

@bjcheung77

What?

"75% or 90 credits?"

I thought it was up to like 114? (Excelsior, others) or did I again, misunderstand Sad

Took a sec to find source: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Th...%20roadmap.

1st section "Credit Requirements":

"Students may still transfer in up to 114 credits. However, at least 24 of those credits must be from RA sources."

24 RA credits ....
From wiki:
1 by Prima HRP 100 - free
1 by Prima STU 100 -free
2 by Prima STU 106 - $44.89
1 by Prima STU 107 - free
2 by Prima STU 109 - $44.89
-----
7
+
1 by ASU CIS194 - $25
= 8
/
that only leaves 16 needed

.. or Five 3 credit courses via ASU ($25/credit), and 1 via "target institution's College success" (or equal)

Some "Nutrition/Career/Life" type courses and sociology seems "no brainers" (maybe literally), should cover "24 RA credits from another college to be accepted into the program"

I think your plan sounds good, especially the fact that you’ll be able to fill the RA needs with minimal social interactions as you’ve hoped. Echoing bjcheung77‘s comment, get started on the common RA courses you need asap so you cans build momentum. It’s easy to get lost in analysis, though important it takes away the mental energy you otherwise coulduse towards your studies to get that degree.

Oh... "paralysis of analysis" .. yeah, luckily I procrastinated 25 years ... its out of my system. (PS: I already got started and nearly done one RA course ASU's CIS194)

The loss of the PP CCTC BOG "stepping stone" is, well ... soul crushing, but "it is as it is", so I will locate the path with the least resistance remaining of the current options.

I need some RA's, I should be able to cover some of the more "stoopid" (IMHO) GE needs (Arts/Humanities, Diversity & Social Science, at least). the rest would be electives.

I targeted 3x GE (Eng/Math/NatSci) at Sophia:
- Foundations of English Composition (easy, passes as a "true" ENG... CLEP might be faster/better, and 6 credits?)
- Introduction to College Mathematics (easy, counts as a "Math" with nearly all) ... I DREAD...
- Environmental Science (also easy, is a real NatSci, and more "career focused", I am more likely to have a spill/leak/flood/fire/etc than need to find Venus/Explain mitochondria's function)

Reddit users seem to indicate all are very, very, easy offerings (only things like "visual communication" are rated "easier")

Ok I have enough to make a rough excel track for both suggestions.
I will start course/credit matching and post something sane, rather than my ramblings

We all fall prey into over analysis, I'm worst than most.

If you're going for TESU, you can always submit your transcript and see where you're at. Those classes you targeted should be fairly easy, TESU also has TECEP to test out of some of these courses - https://www2.tesu.edu/listalltecep.php . Could be an even faster way if speed is the primary factor. Applied Liberal Arts Mathematics for example has mostly just arithmetic and simple probability that most adults can probably do without studying, since you tend to use applied math skills more than something like Calculus.

Ok 1 of these guys is target:
(seems most accessible of role titles I'd like?) am I wrong?

Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity - TESU

https://tesu.smartcatalogiq.com/en/curre...rsecurity/

A. Intellectual and Practical Skills (15 Credits)
- ENC-1010 Writing for Success 3
- ENC-1020 Writing for Success II 3
- ENG-2020 Technical Communication 3
- MAT-1210 College Algebra 3
- SOS-1100 Fact, Fiction, or Fake? Information Literacy Today 3
For all TESU course options that will satisfy this area of the degree, go to Intellectual and Practical Skills.
B. Civic and Global Leadership (9 Credits)
- AWIT/Google PM exceed
C. Knowledge of Human Cultures (15 Credits)
- 3 "pre-done" (I have Intro to Politics)
- Marketing may fill some?
D. Scientific Knowledge (6 Credits)
- 3 of these are "easily eaten" by Computer Literacy, no sci lab is needed
II. Area of Study Cybersecurity (57 Credits)
- TEEX CYB-101/201/301, & constitute courses, "easily eat" 25 credits
- ISC2 & IBM Cybersecurity Certs "easily eat" up 12 credits more
III. Cybersecurity Electives (6 Credits)
Select two courses (1 option) from any of the following options:
- Digital Forensics and Cyber Investigation Option
- Cloud Security Option
- Homeland Security Option (my pic, use FEMA IS???)
IV. Electives (12 Credits)
- "pre-done" easily

-- I have 17 UL credits (only need 15??)

Ideal with "Homeland Security Option" (I have others/equals, options already: Digital Forensics and Cyber Investigation // Cloud Security Option)

BETTER only 1 Math = MAT-1210 College Algebra

(Direct USA visa application via ICE/DHS employment offer??)

or

B.S. in Information Technology - TESU

https://tesu.smartcatalogiq.com/current/...echnology/
BUT ... more math needed

both=
Total Credit Hours: 120 (Students may still transfer in up to 114 credits. However, at least 24 of those credits must be from RA sources.)

I am soo IT/Cybersecurity credit heavy as it is, this seems "fast/easy" (for me)

//

Question, is the ASU $400 ($300 on offer) credit transcription in 1 year window, per credit, or "all qualifying" (aka is it $400 per.. or $400 over-all)?
they have English Composition I/II, College Algebra & a Science/lab, "on-demand", I think (thats 13 RA credits alone, for like $500?, under $39/credit?)

Import 114 credits, leaving - SOS-1100 Fact, Fiction, or Fake? Information Literacy Today 3 + CYB-4950 Cybersecurity Capstone 3, as my "final" 6 credits with TESU
I will see if I can craft a way for CMS to equal "Intro to Statistics" (QR)

Basically, your homework for the remainder of the long weekend. Review the following 3 threads, especially the links that I provided in my post replies. The reason is because these links of mine showcase success stories for those who follow the advice and recommendations to get a degree of their choice. You're stuck on the first step of deciding on the degree and institution to graduate from...

1) From 03-16-2022 - https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...lan--39881
2) Update 03-31-2022 - https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...psychology
3) Final 08-16-2022 - https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...ee-to-pick

Essentially, you've got many elective credits, but most of the general education and degree major is missing. You need to summarize what I have written in these three threads, and anything relevant in the links I have pointed to. The reason is, you can be done with the degree from UMPI in one session if you do the 90+ Sophia.org general education credits, plus the requirements for the minor(s) I mentioned.

thank you, I will read up, and course match...

Should I post my "full" credit repost/list??

or no read > match on my own > then post for overview?

/

I dont follow these, the students appear to be medical/mental health students... how does this apply?
so no TESU... use UMPI?
/
So make a list of matching ge/major/electives, for UMPI programs?
None of my IT/Cyber credits are applicble to major? ... (if so screw that route then, I didnt relize all I had were iffy electives with no major qualifiers)

///
Step1:

Institution >> TESU, why titles are clean and fitting, they have "pay to play" options
Degree >> BSIT or BSCS (BSIT is "too math heavy", I work in stoopid prevention/foolfix anyhow >> BS in Cybersecurity picked)

+++ Read the posts cited "more thoroughly"

Step 2:
I see "needed credits on program page"
I must locate credits I currently have, and "what TESU see's them as"

Step 3
I must discover how they can weigh "major credits" in IT or Cyber, I hold numerous certifications and credits in this area (some may fit)
