It seems BJ went all out on these
As I have recently completed Diplomas at Levels 7, 6, and 5, as well as programs with ENEB, UNISEB, ISEB, Unimarconi, and Anglia Ruskin University, I’ve been able to compare them and share this perspective:
https://qualifications.pearson.com/en/qu...-2021.html (that link is not very helpful in my view as the PDF has way too much info for multiple diplomas and is quite confusing) I found the Cardiff Met MBA Advanced Entry page link to be more helpful https://www.cardiffmet.ac.uk/courses/pos...ry-top-up/ As well as the Authorised Teaching Centre I chose after looking at the Cardiff Met Page: https://www.mywestford.com/mba-diploma-s...opolitian/ I used it to progress to an MBA Top-up. Instead of just doing the writing assignments on my own, I went through Westford. There were 6 modules for the diploma; each module takes 1 month of live instruction, which runs on Saturdays from 8am EDT to 12pm EDT. It is possible to get exemptions for a few modules with prior coursework. They did accept my previous work, which included a UK Postgraduate Certificate, and allowed me to get 2 courses exempted. I also showed my ENEB/Ui1 MBA + Master thereafter to ask for an additional exemption, but was told that I was already maxed out. Whether they would have initially accepted ENEB, is not discernible from this experience, but I think is still worth a try. Once I had completed all coursework, I was then enrolled for the MBA top-up, which takes place directly with Cardiff Met on their own Learning Management System and their own instructors. For me, I would say the writing assignments were more difficult than ENEB, and one must adhere to every rubric, as the assessment is strict, you will be instructed to revise even if you left off even just a few sentences that were to address a point on the rubric. With ENEB, one gets 2 attempts, and it is really for when one wants to raise the grade/score. With Level 7 Diplomas, it's not "Raising" the score, but rather trying to earn a "pass". Westford doesn't "Fail" the 1st attempt, for the Pearson BTEC Diploma, instead they will say "Revision Needed." Even if literally it is asking for making a small mention of a point to be addressed, and details like including a Gantt chart. Cardiff Met accepts Level 7 Diplomas from multiple awarding bodies (ATHE, LRN, NCC Education, OTHM, Pearson BTEC, SQA), and various authorised online teaching centres provide these. If you want to save costs, you can always find an inexpensive online teaching centre that provides "instruction" for those diplomas. I don't really know what kind of learning support is provided by certain providers, so I tended to go for teaching centres that seemed more established and had explicit details about learning support, staff, tutors, and learning platforms mentioned on the site itself, and also checked to see the quality of their LinkedIn presence. Level 6 Diploma in Business Management - OTHM OTHM Link: https://othm.org.uk/qualification/othm-l...management Authorised Teaching Centre I chose: https://www.onlinebusinessschool.com/ I went through Online Business School (UK) (not the fancy and expensive Titulo propio school in Spain with a similar name) I generally like the look and feel of OTHM overall, including the program descriptions, prospectuses, website, and even the diploma and transcript design. Something about it all, just seems "clean" and more organized to me than some others. I did this as a final year equivalent of my UK Bachelor's degree just in case I didn't successfully complete my UK BSc (Hons) Top-up. It was an "Off-Ramp", or just an affordable insurance/back up plan. As for grading, they took 2-14 days. Toward the end of the modules, the final 3 or 4 modules, they took a maximum of 14 days to grade, and it was very strict. I had to revise at least 3 papers (though these were minor). OBS UK charges a lot more than other teaching centres, however when I showed links of other institutions, they provided a hefty discount. I was willing to pay a little more for OBS because they have a solid Learning Management System, tutors, and actual online learning materials to go through on one's own, and even certificates to print out after completing online learning sections (these do not count toward the actual OTHM diploma, it is for self-learning but required by the teaching centre for completion of the program). They also suggest a 1-on-1 meeting with a tutor to get started, although I skipped that part, some people might like that. Level 5 Extended Diploma - Qualifi Awarding Body Link: https://qualifi.net/qualifi-level-5-exte...anagement/ Authorised Teaching Centre I chose: https://chestnuteducationgroup.net/quali...management This was the requirement to be admitted to the final year of the BSc (Hons) Top up degree at the partner UK University. As UK Bachelor's degrees are 3 years. Year 1 = Level 4, Year 2=Level 5, Year 3 = Level 6 Level 5 Extended means they've combined Level 4 and 5 into a single diploma. This is also pretty much the equivalent to a UK "Higher National Diploma (HND)", which is similar to a US Associate's degree, although an HND is somewhere in between a US Associate's degree and a US Bachelor's degree, as the HND goes beyond an associate's degree. I guess a way to describe it is a US Associate Degree + 2 additional semester credits. Personally, I very much like the UK Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), as it is also recognized across Europe as a direct equivalent to the European Qualifications Framework (EQF). I think that Level 4,5 writing is not difficult, rather fun. At Level 6 and 7, the expectations seem to rise sharply, the papers need to be spotless, even though the grade will be "Pass". Qualifi Diplomas, on the other hand, do have "Merit" and "Distinction" marks above "Pass", so if this is an important detail, it might be better suited for some people. Interestingly, on the Cardiff Met MBA page, it mentions many types of Level 7 Diploma Awarding bodies (ATHE, LRN, NCC Education, OTHM, Pearson BTEC, SQA), but not Qualifi. There are a few other RQF / OfQual regulated bodies not noted, such as ABE and CIPD. I asked Cardiff Met about this, and they told me they would consider Qualifi on a case-by-case basis. This is likely due to the module content, as Cardiff Met is very explicit about what modules and electives must be taken with the various Level 7 diploma programs. In hindsight I would say the UK BSc (Hons), OTHM Level 6, and Pearson BTEC Level 7 writing assignments were equally difficult. A little easier for me were the ENEB, UNISEB, ISEB, and Unimarconi via ENEB. The Master's Final Project (MFP) for Unimarconi was, of course, more challenging than normal ENEB assignments. Level of difficulty (my experience) from top to bottom:

The thing that always Makes me hesitant about Westford is that they don't have their prices on their website, so I worry that they charge whatever they think the person contacting them can afford.

The thing that always Makes me hesitant about Westford is that they don't have their prices on their website, so I worry that they charge whatever they think the person contacting them can afford. After negotiating, I ended up paying USD $8,000, divided into four installment payments. All payments were made to Westford only, with no additional payment required for Cardiff Met, as it was all-inclusive. If paid upfront, they did offer a small discount. It can be done for far less by completing the Diploma through a lower-cost provider and then applying directly to Cardiff Met. For instance, Cardiff Met Advanced Entry is GBP 3,180. Various teaching centres charge significantly less for the diploma. One example, as BJ listed, is around GBP 690. That likely does not include the OTHM diploma issuance fee, though this is typically minimal, around GBP 40. All in, it’s possible to complete the entire pathway for approximately $5,287 by choosing a lower-cost teaching centre and applying directly. I chose to pay more because I valued the structure of virtual weekend classes, with each module running for four weeks. The additional $2,713 was essentially the premium I paid for live instruction, installment flexibility toward the MBA Top-up, and peace of mind. When applying directly to Cardiff Met, full payment of GBP 3,180 is required upfront (approximately $4,300.63 as of today). Westford is listed by Cardiff Met itself and is part of the Westford Group, which also owns UniAthena. They are well established and offer progression programs with multiple UK universities. Some teaching centres can appear less transparent, and I believe Westford leverages its resources and partnerships to present a stronger institutional profile. They also hold BAC accreditation, which adds an additional layer of quality assurance, although it is not strictly necessary, as they are already authorised by the awarding bodies of the diplomas they deliver. There is also an annual graduation ceremony in the UAE attended by representatives from their UK partner universities. There’s even a running joke online about some of the lower-cost providers appearing very informal. My own WhatsApp conversations and email exchanges with a few of these teaching centres did not leave the strongest impression. For a completely different field and program I was looking into, in one case, a provider was charging nearly double, acting as an intermediary rather than the actual teaching centre. They did not disclose that they were acting as an intermediary. They also did not make it clear that there was only one authorised teaching centre for the particular program I was looking into. I was able to verify this directly with the university, which confirmed they only accept a particular diploma for that pathway, and only from 1 teaching centre. That teaching centre further confirmed that if I had proceeded with the other diploma version, I would have been required to convert by paying the full fee for the correct diploma version and complete 2 additional modules. In my opinion, many lower-cost teaching centres primarily provide access to an online portal outlining the required writing assignments, with more limited structured support. My point is that I don’t mind paying a modest premium for structure, transparency, and peace of mind. My personal ranking of teaching centres (based on my experience and research):

I bet you could write a book about negotiating the UK diploma and top-up system at this point. I'm not sure how well it would sell, but I would certainly read it! And the total cost for the MBA is still reasonable, even with the extra expense. I would expect this to be an attractive option for people who do not need a US-accredited MBA.
