Are minorities disproportionately involved in gun crime? Yes or no?
Who is the greatest source of mass shootings (INCLUDING gang) in this country?
Black men 18-30. Are black men inherently bad? NO. But is it something that needs ot be addressed and not glossed over? Yes. That's what Charlie talks about
He was also killed with a boomer 30-06, which is legal in most countries. It's not a scary AR-15...
Try again.

Charlie Kirk was perfectly happy to let other people, nay, to make other people die for his fetish. I find little tragedy in his death.
He was killed by a boomer 30-06 not a scary AR15. 30-06 bolt actions are readily obtained in many many countries.
Strawman harder
Also, an assassination is a far cry from ANY other gun deaths. Stop being disingenuous.
I didn't really even like Charlie Kirk, but I will gleefully call out BS. Rising political violence is a net negative and the multitude of people cheering his death are poor excuses for humans. As tensions rise and this becomes more common, those on the left should be careful what they wish for. None of this will result in anything good.

The majority of mass shootings are committed by white males. Keep attacking straws.

Some minority demographics yes, some minority demographics no. Some non-minority demographics yes (it’s consistently mostly a young men problem), some non-minority demographics no.

No, per the Rockefeller Institute and Statista.

The majority of mass shootings are committed by white males. Keep attacking straws. Per the FBI definition (4+ shot in any context), no it's not. Try again.
Good on you to ignore the rest of the comment though.

While I usually try to avoid diving into the minutiae of specific arguments, this is exactly what Kirk was referencing when he was shot, so I'll provide some additional information on this. Essentially this debate revolves around how you define mass shootings, specificially
a. Do you include all SHOOTINGS or all KILLINGS
b. Do you exclude gang related events
Most datasets, including those cited, only include killings and specifically exclude gang violence. The best dataset that focuses on all shootings, The Gun Violence Archive, includes gang violence and does not exclude it. Most analysis of that data shows black males accounting for approximately 50% of the shootings.
There are numerous factors at play here including both poverty and culture. The point that is often made however is that selecting only part of the data can leads to dramatically different conclusions depending on the underlying beliefs of the individuals.

No, per the Rockefeller Institute and Statista. How do you define mass shootings? 4+ shot in any context, yes it is. I am well aware of those sources that are isolated for schools/public settings. Statista heavily excludes an all-encompassing list of mass shootings. See this: https://www.statista.com/statistics/4764...-s-gender/
Obviously, more than 150 shootings have happened since 1982.
Black males are massively overrepresented in all violent crimes

Why would I exclude gang violence? A mass shooting is a mass shooting.
Poverty and "culture" are low-effort excuses to try and "justify" the actions as being somehow out of an individual's control and side step accountability.
What sort of normal and accepted culture justifies this? The culture is the problem.
No one wants to address the problem, and instead pretends it doesn't exist or uses projection techniques to make it go away. It's exactly what Kirk was talking about when he was assassinated. The previous posters are trying to exactly do that.. Stuff cotton in their ears because its something they dont want to hear.
Black males 18-34 REPRESENT 2% of the population yet make up nearly 36% of gun DEATHS. Not even just shootings...

The white mass shooter trope grabs headlines but ignores the rank and file gun violence problems in the country.
ALL gun crime is a problem, but ignoring where a massive amount of it comes from and using it as some gotcha for Charlie's death is pathetic. Not saying you are doing it, but commentators in general..

The above is split from the thread RIP Charlie Kirk of Turning Point USA. Further posts about demographics of gun violence should go here not there.
