I actually read the wrong reference and still passed. This exam is incredibly easy. Saylor.org has an intro to sociology open course. You can also check out ITunes U. If you really want to read a textbook, your local library should have some to check out. Not much has changed in sociology so you can use an old book.

Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently.

Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end.

Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example.

Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work.

Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.

I haven't taken the sociology CLEP, but here is the page on the collegeboard website that lists suggested textbooks you could use. I wouldn't buy them since there are other resources you could use that don't cost money, but if you'd like to have a textbook to study from here's a good list. You could check with your library, like the posts above say, to see if they have them.

I posted my thoughts on this exam and some helpful resources here ---> http://www.degreeforum.net/excelsior-tho...post136710 Additionally, I compiled a list of specific thing to know for this CLEP; PM me if you would be interested in a copy of it. No, College Plus doesn't provide the books, but has a list of which ones you will need for each test. For all the CLEPs, they suggest the REA books if they're available for that test.
