I did 3 months of Shmoop and have 44 credits. It's not that big of a deal if I can't use them, I was just seeing if anyone knew before I take the Sophia courses that would duplicate what I already have from Shmoop.
Unfortunately, with the way the ACE transcript changeover has gone, you actually have 0 Shmoop credits now. There's probably a good chance that UMPI would accept at least some of them if they were on a Credly transcript. But I'm not sure anyone will ever be able to find out now. All of mine are on Credly. I guess I'll see what happens.

Let us know what they say. They may not be accepted at UMPI but, since applications are free, I think you might as well see what they say.

They took all of mine. I sent in a pre-credly ACE transcript.

Weird. I was told they didn't accept Shoomp. I wonder if this changed with the different Registrar's or at the system level. It'll be interesting to see if this changed with Credly. Shmoop is no longer an ACE provider. They gave it up last year.

Yeah, but all my credits are from when they were an ACE provider. So I guess they 'count.'

Interesting. I had seen earlier references to Shmoop and wondered why they were no longer recommended.
What's even more interesting is... Shmoop's site still clearly says that they have a bunch of ACE-recommended college courses and a link on each course to "learn more about ACE college credit." But when you click on that link, it takes you to an unrelated page that talks about AP credits.
Presumably they are simply so sloppy/lazy that they have not updated their site to show that the courses are no longer recommended for credit? Anyone have any idea why they are no longer a recommended ACE provider?

They weren't exactly on the up and up. Many schools stopped accepting their credits. This post tells you that they went out of the ACE business.

About half of their courses expired back in 2020, so many courses still "active" and yet they are no longer listed on ACE as a course provider - not sure what happened. I know some course providers don't always renew, but it doesn't make a lot of sense for them to not keep the active courses on the ACE website and allow them to be taken but then expire and go away due to attrition. They paid good money to get ACE-recommended, so it's odd.

This makes me wonder what happened behind the scenes. Like were they in trouble with ACE and this settled it?
