Has anyone taken this exam lately? I am scheduled for Monday morning. Passed Psychology of Adulthood and Aging with an "A" on Wednesday (mainly used IC). I have heard there is a lot of "overlap" with the two exams. Any advice?

I have not taken Gerontology so can't answer specifically. But I have heard there is a lot of overlap with Adulthood Aging. My advice with ECE's is go over the free Content Guide that they give for each of their tests. They usually are
very specific about what they are going to cover on the test. Also, if you want to buy their practice tests ($65 for 2) you will definitely know if you are prepared. I did purchase the practice tests for another ECE that I took and I felt it was worth every penny to put my mind at ease that I was prepared. I hate to put down $250 bucks for a test and not pass. So for me it was worth it to pay for the practice test. Also, do a search on here because i know there was advice about this test not to long ago. I think if you got an A on Adulthood and Aging it sounds like you are definitely going to have a good foundation for Gerontology.

Hope this helps!

Thanks so much. I had purchased the practice exams and indeed, they were very helpful. I passed the exam today with a B. Not what I wanted, but I'll take it and be happy. The wording of the questions were a little odd I thought. The one thing I did not do was review the content guide until it was too late. I've been testing through EC for 5 years and you would think I would have known better. That's what being overly confident will get you! Thanks again for your reply. Now I am moving on to Criminl Justice, Environment and Humanity, then Analyzing and Interpreting Literature. All Gen Ed requirements will be completed at that point, then I will begin the Masters in Nursing program in January. WOW!

Hey a B is still very, very good!! Sometimes we forget that a B is above average grade--nothing to be ashamed of

Congrats! I am glad the practice tests were helpful. At first I kind of hated to spend that extra money but I felt it made me less anxious and was worth every penny. I feel like the practice tests give me an idea of "where I stand" as far as being prepared--so it's worth it. I don't want any surprises come test day

Especially at the tune of $250 bucks. Best wishes on your next tests and going for your Masters. That is something to be proud of!!
