ENEB New Master Thread
#41
I might have missed it in the old monster-sized thread, but is there any info (formally or anecdotally) that says how many individual classes or credits/ECTS are needed for certain FCE ratings?  I could swear I thought I saw something to the effect of 1 ENEB Master might get evaluated as general post-secondary credit whereas 2 or 3 (or more) Masters getting submitted would be a US RA Bachelors via ECE (since ECE is the only one that offers RA Bachelors as a rating it seems).  While my question is ENEB related, the carry over (I would think) applies to the CLEA/Masstercursos thread as well because if there is a formula using the number of classes or ECTS to get certain ratings, it might help determine the CLEA/Masstercursos evaluations (doesn't look like there's been any submitted yet to ECE, IEE, etc that I could see).  I'm doing 2 at ENEB now but was thinking about a top-off using the CLEA stuff for reference.

I thought I was going to get away with not having to pay $155 for the Universidad Isabel I diploma. I was in the middle of getting my IEE evaluation and had not received the Universidad Isabel I diploma for my Dual Masters. IEE requires the UI1 diploma since it is the accreditor of ENEB. Note: I received my Universidad Isabel I MBA diploma at the same time as the ENEB MBA diploma last year for no additional fee.

As far as conversion of credit hours go, there is no rhyme or reason other than 2 ECTS = 1 US credit hour. But, evaluators are rounding numbers down here lately when the conversion comes out as a decimal. IEE is good about changing the evaluation numbers back if requested to be more accommodating. You won't really have success in transferring ENEB courses for anything other than electives.

I recieved the digital ENEB diploma within a few days (5 days I thought) after finishing the exam end of February. The digital diploma of Universidad Isabel I,  I could download 10 days after the ENEB diploma.

The physical diplomas and Apostille then after 45 days (total = 60 days from the day of finishing exam)

Thanks for this! Did you have to be home and show ID? I likely won't be available to receive mine but I added a c/o in the address field so hopefully someone else at the house can receive it.

As for foreign credential evaluators, Transcript Research gave me a free pre-evaluation for my ENEB MBA several months ago but I never made the result public.  They said it would be no guarantee that it would come out to what they were telling me but they basically stated that it is a Master Titulo Propio because the ENEB programs were not in RUCT and the evaluation in their words would state: “Graduate study from a nationally accredited program”.

Ok, so two to go...

You can scratch IERF off the list.....   After reaching out as a college representative instead of a student because they only did the blanket response of submitting an application without answering the question directly,  here is the email response I received,

"A Título Propio is a university specific title. It is not part of an academic degree program and is not recognized by the Ministry of Education in Spain. As such, we do not recommend university-level academic credit."

I will add this to the no recognition / no credit list on the degreeforum wiki. I will also add Transcript Request as well. That will only leave one more evaluator.

No ID was required, but I did have to provide my signature on the digital device. In my case, it was delivered by DHL Express. A few days before that, I received a message on WhatsApp and an email from DHL informing me that the delivery was coming.

I think they could deliver it so soon, because I live in Europe.

Long story short it's really very good and so far I think it looks like it was worth the money.

For A1 level, aka "Hi my name is...", they have flash videos and so on, you can then choose to do things like clicking on the correct English translation of the Italian or putting the Italian words into the correct order based on the video. However what they really do is push you to start watching short videos in Italian as soon as possible while seeing definitions also written in that language.

For example the bottom of the A1 page entices you to challenge yourself with an A2 video. That video is actually likely a bit above A2 level, but they have you watch it once, read an intro or summary of it in Italian, and they then pause the video and describe what is occurring in it in text form, similar to visual descriptions in movies for the blind. It is not simply showing the dialogue like what most learning platforms do, instead someone has actually written a basic description of the current scene in Italian ("Two men are walking on the road....") and you can click on any Italian word to see its definition. The video for the one I tried is a clip from a popular made-in-Italian Netflix tv show, the clip itself is available on YouTube.

Oakford's technique can definitely get you to B2 or C1 level in any of their offered languages easily, I used a similar technique to get to C1 in Japanese so I know it works.

Whenever you feel you're ready you can take an Italian level test, after completing the test you are assigned a language level (A through C) and you assumably get a certificate for whatever levels you passed.

The site will let you translate the Italian you're learning to English, Japanese, Slovenian, Turkish, Thai and a bunch of other languages, so Oakford is not only for English speakers.

When you register through ENEB you must choose which language you will learn. This gives you a "license for learning" on the Oakford site and the license is only good for some set pairs of languages (the license is invisible, I found it out by messing around with Oakford's URL). I purchased from ENEB for Italian, and this means my "license" is only good for learning Italian or Spanish, which I can switch between freely. I can't however switch to German, Chinese or the other languages Oakford offers unless I purchase from ENEB again and choose those languages.

I'll update on my thoughts again after having used Oakford for a few months.

ENEB has not yet added the extra ENEB courses that came along with my Oakford purchase to my ENEB account, I think it was something about AI and something about how to look more professional on your CV, can't remember.

I signed up for the same offer. The Italian program is pretty good, but the testing feature isn't working. I keep getting a 404 error or an "unauthorized" message. They claimed all the extras would be available by May 16th, and instructed us to email if we didn't receive them. I'm still waiting.

I'm waiting for my digital documents and read the Legal T&Cs. It looks like they batch all the degrees every 90 days. However, I got two conflicting responses from ENEB. One that it was part of my signup offer, and it will take 90days. The most recent was it takes 90 days, and you need to pay the issuance fee.

Wow, CLEA comes in as grad certs! That's awesome, they can be in different subject matter than ENEB, and also at the same price range as ENEB when they're on sale. Nice, I wonder what attractive grad certs are good to select from. Gonna see what interesting options there are besides the Cybersecurity one...

It says RA institution, but an unaccredited program. I think ECE will have better evaluation outcomes.
