Has anyone ever taken this course from Straighterline, and was it worth it? Also, did the credit transfer in to Excelsior?
I have been out of school for a long time and not sure I could just walk in an pass the ECE for Comp.

I took Eng Comp I at my local school but then needed six credits for TESC and took the six credit CLEP Exam, "College Composition". I haven't done Straighterline courses at all, but to answer your question of acceptance at Excelsior, this link shows what courses transfer from Straighterline:
Transfer College Credit for Online College Courses to Excelsior College - StraighterLine
My completed "non-traditional" credits include 27 credits from CLEP, 30 credits from DSST, 6 credits from ALEKS, 19 credits from FEMA courses including PDS, 3 credits from NFA courses, 10 credits from ACE Workplace Training, 3 credits from a TESC TECEP exam, and 3 credits from a TESC PLA course.

I am taking English Composition I right now. I don't like the little graded quizzes as they can be tricky sometimes, but you get a chance to hand in your raw drafts and have them looked over by your tutor before submitting your final draft. This helps A LOT to boost your overall grade!
Try to be creative and show some effort and a B is very very doable.
