Hi guys,
I'm getting ready for the Ethics in America DSST to test out of my Ethical Leadership requirement, and I wanted to know if TESC required the essay for this test? I couldn't find anything official on their website, and the answers I found on the forum were old, so I wanted to see if anybody knew anything about it.

Reading through old forums I don't believe they do; however, if you have time to do it go for it. I say this in case you change your mind in the future and go to a school that requires it. If this test doesn't work out remember there is business ethics with straighterline and the environmental ethics TECEP which can help with residency requirements for the pay per credit plan.

I gave the exam a week ago and I left the essay blank, as far as I understand TESC does not require it.
My evaluation does not show up this credits yet as it takes about a month for DSST credits to show up.
As for smf6824 advice, I don't think you can give the essay and use it in different college as DSST does not evaluate the essay it is sent to the college you picked, which in this case would be TESC and would not be used, unless there is ability to resend it to new institution; so instead of spending time on essay you would be better off using that time reviewing the other questions, yes essay is just shown as last question in the set not as a separate section or anything.
To quote from the DSST fact sheet "Optional Essay: Test takers have the option to write an essay that will not be scored by DSST raters, but will be sent to the credit-awarding institution for consideration and scoring. Before taking this exam, students are advised to check with their institution to determine whether the essay is required."

TESC accepted my Ethics in America DSST with no essay. So just confirming what others have said... no essay.

Yeah, I ended up writing it anyway to be on the safe side, but I passed, so no big deal.
And it's not going anywhere with this except TESC, so ultimately I should be fine. And for the forum, I'll confirm with TESC for the official word
