English 101 prerequisite for Charter Oak Cornerstone?
#1
I tried to register for the class today and it said the prerequisite was ENG 101: English Composition 1. I'm guessing CLEP English Literature and CLEP American Literature don't qualify for this? I have completed both and I still wasn't allowed to register for the course.

I will be doing CLEP College Composition in September. I'm assuming that would satisfy the prerequisite?

Thanks!

You're correct, the Lit courses don't count as Comp courses. I would wait until I got the CLEP done first before signing up.

You are correct. Literature courses do not count as english composition. Complete your English 101 course and then take the Cornerstone immediately thereafter.

I think I had messaged about this strange requirement when they first introduced it. Cornerstone is usually the first course, but they want to make sure you know how to write for the cornerstone I suppose.

Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently.

Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end.

Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example.

Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work.

Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.
