Graduate mathematics credits
#1
Hey everyone I’m in need of some help in finding graduate mathematics credits similar to ND statistics start anytime options. I recently got offered a position at a community college as a adjunct but they said I needed 3 more mathematics graduate courses, they said preference to statistics , calculus, and differential equations but anything coded Math above 500 will do, preferably not math education but will take what I can get. I have graduate credits for mathematics mainly in the Geometry subject area . I also have a bachelors in math, masters in Ed tech and 6 years hs teaching mathematics experience. I need to finish the classes by mid august at the latest.

Do you mean the University of North Dakota "Enroll Anytime" courses? I've never seen this before. $498.45 per credit. "Format: Online - Self-Paced Enroll Anytime"
https://und.edu/academics/online/enroll-...fr515.html.

The only graduate level ACE I could find that would satisfy that is the Statistics.com Categorical Data Analysis which is equivalent to 3 graduate credits. $729. There are many issues going this route, the first being that the next start date is 10/03/2025.

You should ask whether those graduate CE/PD courses for Teachers work. I know there are a lot of providers but I haven't looked into them much. One provider I've seen mentioned on this forum is VESI. It seems like they have 2 non credit Graduate Credit Math education courses and you could select the University to transcribe from.
Teaching Elementary Math Conceptually: A New Paradigm 3 credits
Teaching Secondary Math Conceptually: Meeting Mathematics Standards 3 credits
https://www.virtualeduc.com/courses.php
Edit: Looks like they cost $~200-400 depending on the university.

One advantage that you have is that they want you.

I might look into Fresno Pacific courses:

https://ce.fresno.edu/educator-courses/?...veryFilter=

These are 900 level courses that are transcripted with an MAT prefix.  I would ignore the courses that seem to be teaching methods courses.  I have always had my eye on Great Mathematicians before 1700 and Great Mathematicians after 1700.

https://courses.teachingchannel.com/cour...1kM&bundle=

This is a set of courses with the teaching channel that transcript as MATX at Concordia University-St. Paul or MTHX at Loyola Marymount University.  The course titles are kind of lame, but these could work.

Harvard Extension has a Calculus I course that you can take for graduate credit:

https://coursebrowser.dce.harvard.edu/co...alculus-i/

Coopersmith has an Applied Managerial Statistics course/exam that is listed as MAT-500. This has the following NCCRS credit recommendation: In the graduate degree category, 3 semester hours in Applied Statistics, Managerial Statistics, Business Statistics, Business Analytics, Quantitative Finance, Statistics, or Mathematics (6/22). You would have to credit bank this at a place like Excelsior College.

Walden has a bunch of 6000 level math courses in their catalog. Maybe give them a call about the timeline on these.

The Fresno state website has "Online Professional Development Courses for Teachers." The course names do seem more relevant than the VESI courses but you still have to make sure the CC would accept them.

Course number: EDUC 5598P-42553 Statistics in Education https://reg.learningstream.com/reg/event...196d585bc0
ISU currently offers a $200 credit for educators.
The courses are graduate credit and listed on the transcript as 5000-level but are not usable for a degree. Hence, the "P" after the 5000-course code for professional development. https://www.isu.edu/onlinepd/200-credit/#d.en.235431
Not sure if that would work for you, but at least you get a refresher for free. Smile

Suprised no one has mentioned Portage Learning: https://portagelearning.edu/courses/mathematics/cnsl503

3 graduate credits in stats and on a University Transcript as real credit!! (Geneva University)

All self-paced but you have support. And its only $669 TOTAL for 3 credits.

If the Teacher PDs don't work out, this is probably the route to go. I didn't even consider Portage since I associate them with healthcare grad school prerequisites.

Portage sounds great for 1 class. Do you think it’s too similar to the North Dakota to do both since they are both statistics? Also ACE said that I could do 2 classes there with the Math 500 prefix that start July and end by mid august. Thank you everyone for all the great resources
