Getting closer and closer to graduation
#11
I'm stupid with tiredness, but did anyone let you know that Strat. Mgmt. can be taken at PF? I don't recall a final, but there was a paper. Dollars to donuts mine was fewer than 10 (might have been 6) pages long.

Thanks for letting me know! I'll check it out. Sorry for the slow reply, I've been driving 1.5 hours away from home everyday. I'm currently working on a few straighterline classes. Business Law seems to be kicking my butt, but Business Communications has been a breeze so far. I plan to attempt to knock out Business Law, Business Communication, and maybe another class this week if I get lucky.

I've recently quit my job in order to focus on my degree for the next few months. I'll be moving to Oregon with my wife after she finishes her teaching internship & thesis (required for her masters). Since the school she's required to teach at is 1.5 hours away, I've decided it would be more productive to drive her to work and head over to the library to knock out school work (no distractions). I know it may seem a bit crazy to do 2-3 classes in a week, but trust me... when you're stuck in a public library for 10 hours a day, you almost want to do school just to have something to do.

1. Managerial Communication (Does SL work for this?)
2. Accounting 102 (I plan to do SL for this one)
3. Business Law (I'm thinking about either SL or DSST)
4. Principles of Finance (I plan to do this via DSST with IC)
5. Strategic Management/Business Policy (I'm not aware of anything other than TECEP to complete this)
6. Business in society (does Business ethics in society DSST work for this?)

Now based on my specialization, these are the courses that were recommended to me.
A)
1. ACC-303 Cost Accounting (PLA portfolio)
2. International Management (PLA portfolio)
3. HR Management (already completed)

Thanks

If the advisor recommended you could get credit for cost accounting, would you also be able to get credit for man acct? I would definitely try to test out of many of these courses rather than PLA.
CLEPS Passed: 10 DSST Passed: 11 TECEPS: 1

Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently.

Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end.

Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example.

Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work.

Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.

I'll need to check with my adviser to confirm, but I would think it should work. Trust me, I'd rather test out of everything than have to write 15 pages for a class. Even with all the study necessary to take the DSST/CLEP/SL tests, it would be a lot less hectic on me to test out. Thanks for the recommendation; I'll really need to check up on this!

On top of Business Ethics, I've been able to get all the main tests done on Managerial Accounting & Business Law. Business Law has been tough, but it looks like I should be able to pass. 3 down, a bunch to go!

I've been working my hardest to get all of these courses done as soon as possible. Hitting them 8-12+ hours a day has been taxing, but I've been able to make some real progress so far.

Final exams scheduled for the following;
1. Financial Accounting
2. Managerial Accounting
3. Business Law

Remaining Courses;
1. Business Communication (Not exactly a challenging course, but 19 tests and/or papers are required for credit)
2. Organizational Behavior (I've been studying for this one for quite a long time; I'm hoping to be able to finish it in a day or two with lots of work!)
