You can also get Financial Aid at Excelsior as well. They do have a school
code.
I wasn't knocking TESC just because of their grading policy. I was initially going to go with TESC. I also understand that a vast number of schools have similar policies. For my purposes (and many others) you are definitely going to need a GPA. For most people like me who plan on testing out of the majority of their degree...TESC wouldn't have 60 graded credits or even 10 for that mattter! And taking one TESC course just to get a grade still won't help your cause any.
I'm currently taking my CLEP exams and getting those out of the way before I enroll at a school. I was going to enroll at TESC and earn 96 credits though CLEP, DSST, ALEKS, and a couple of PF courses. Then I was going to complete the remaining 24 credits through TESC coursework.
I know that Excelsior gives you a letter grade for the DSST's. What do they do for CLEP exams? Is it pass/fail just like TESC? What about ACE reviewed courses or ALEKS? Being awarded a letter grade based on the exam score can be a double edged sword.
Just curious as I was planning on attending a community college after I finish the BS to pick up an additional 36 credits in order to give me 60 graded credits.

Hey Retake!
The CLEP exams are Pass/Fail just about everywhere. I have heard that Excelsior USE to give letter grades for them (I wish they would reinstate that policy!!!)
ALEKS is also Pass/Fail only at TESC and Excelsior. I'm not sure about Penn Foster courses at TESC though. I do know that grades earned at Penn Foster do transfer in at Excelsior.
Due to revisions with the DSST exams, some courses do not warrant a letter grade. The exams that have been revised in 2008 will be pass/fail only. The rest will have letter grades.

Once I receive a bunch of credits (probably 24) for my knowledge of two foreign languages, towards what requirement would they be credited? additional credit component? Also my major (global business) requires two semesters of the same foreign language, would that be covered also?

I think if you can show proficiency for both languages...that should take care of your humanities category and give you some free electives or something.
Make sure you talk to an academic advisor about what your options are first before doing anything.
