Degree Plan Advice
#1
Hello! I have been trying to lock in the classes I am going to take to get my Psychology degree from Tesc and thought I'd post and get some opinions. First off, I am not a good test taken and therefore prefer self-paced classes better. My questions are..

1. With these classes am I meeting the UL/LL requirements needed? I am not sure what TESC counts as community college credit. All of the incoming credits, except Aleks, is from CC.

2. I am looking at possibly getting a second bachelors of Professional Studies in Business and Management, I tried to make some of my general education classes tieinto business-I have a lot of extra business classes that tesc did take towards psychology.

3. I saw an unproctored art and music class somewhere I thought? Anyone know?

4. Looking for an experimental psychology and 2 cheaper UL psychology courses than Colorado.

Thanks in advance! This forum has been a lifesaver!

Not sure what Colorado state charges for one course, so hard to say what's cheaper. University of Idaho Independent Study has 10 Psychology courses available for $325/course. I also think that Excelsior offers an exam for Research Methods in Psychology that TESC considers equivalent to Experimental Psychology. It's $95. But I would check to make sure that this info is correct. HTH.

Thank you! I may have to do the exam in research methods. I'm not exactly sure on the price of them. I am not sure how straighterline and penn foster transfer. I will keep searching for a list of what the transfer to.

The CLEP College Composition exam will only give you 3 more credits instead of 6 (English Comp will be a duplicate). You could take the no-cost Kaplan PLA course and put it on your ACE transcript for those 3 general ed elective credits, though.
ACE CREDIT | The National Guide to College Credit for Workforce Training

As for Psychology, the Fundamentals of Counseling DSST can be transcribed as PSY-311, so that's 3 UL credits, and Organizational Behavior is PSY-361 for 3 more UL credits. You could add those to two CLEPs (PSY-221 and PSY-230, Devo Psych and Ed Psych) to complete your requirements.

Also, I would strongly suggest that you substitute 7 of the classes you have listed with TECEP exams so that you can enroll in the Per Credit tuition plan, thereby avoiding the enrollment fee.

Depends on what Colorado charges per course. Regent University offers several Psych courses, but they're on the higher end at $750 per 3-credit course.
