HELP!!! College Math CLEP TOMORROW!
#1
Confused I am freaking out...I am taking the College Math CLEP exam tomorrow and I just took the free-clep-prep practice test and only scored a 38.33%, which was 23/60 correct. Does anyone know if this is similar to what the actual exam will be like? Does this mean I am gonna fail tomorrow! I have so many different resources that I don't know where to begin. Also I don't think we covered surface area or cartesian product in my class....IF ANYONE COULD OFFER ANY ADVICE IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED! THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS!

I think the first thing I would do is reschedule the exam.

But didn't someone say they are graded differently?

All those example tests are intended to be indicative of the kinds of questions you should see on the actual CLEP test. If you're seeing sub 40% on your example test, it won't matter if the grading systems are different. Most exams will require at least a 60-70% overall success rate to pass. I wouldn't sit for the CLEP until you're getting at least a 70% on the practice exams. Personally, I'd want to be sitting closer to 80% to be safe.

I'm not sure what class you took to prep for this exam, but you usually want to use multiple resources to study for each exam. If it were me, I'd reschedule the exam until I was sure I was ready. If you fail, I believe you're looking at at least a 3-month delay before you can take it again, and you are out the testing fees (unless you're using a modern states voucher).

You should check the college board CLEP site to see what they have listed as the subject areas to concentrate on and make sure you're solid on all those subjects. Use Khan Academy to review and verify those skill areas.

You could also try taking the Peterson's CLEP practice exams and/or the REA practice exams from their CLEP prep book.

The College Math CLEP was a tough one for me. IIRC, I used nearly every second of time available to review. The resource I found most helpful was this study guide by Comex : https://www.amazon.com/Review-CLEP-Gener...1560302488

Khan Academy's free videos can also be super helpful. If you haven't taken the practice test out of the official clep study guide, I'd start there.
