So far I've only taken CLEP's, but I'm planning on taking DSST-Ethics in America next.
I'm a little confused on the scoring. All of the DSST feedback I've read has people scoring in the 400's. But, my college's acceptable passing score chart here:
http://www.northlandcollege.edu/about/po.../3150P.pdf shows the passing scores in the 40's for the DSSTs.
What am I missing here? Is this an error on their part?

DSSTs originally had a 2-digit scoring system. Their updated exams have a 3-digit scoring system. There are still some exams scored on the old system and I think some of the refreshed exams that are on the new scoring system still have the old versions administered too.

Ok, thanks. So do I need to contact the school and get the updated passing score for the newer tests or request to take the older test?

Contact your school and kindly let them know that DSST has been updating their exams (I believe this began several years ago). Those exams that have been updated are under a different scoring method so the registrar's office might want to do some investigating. It is so rare that I see a college/university who does not go by the ACE-recommended passing scores for the DSST program -- CLEP, yes, but DSST rarely ever.
I have seen similar strange scores reported by institutions for the CLEP exams and finally figured out that these were the ACE cut-offs when there was only the paper-version of the exam.
