Computer certifications - Upper Level credit at Excelsior

I could not find anything posted on the forum regarding a policy that Excelsior has regarding computer certification/courses being granted Upper Level Business credit.

I recently enrolled at EC for the General Business Degree and according to my Status Report I was awarded Upper level bussiness credit for the Dsst MIS test and one Microsoft Certification 70-219. 3 credits each for a total of 6. Now according to the Student Guide to Credit by Exam I have 3 other MS tests that would be UL at 2 each and Network+ at 2 UL credits.

I sent an email to the advisor asking about them:

I also had a question regarding the Network+ certification via CompTIA and a few of the Microsoft exams. According to the current Student Guide to Credit by Examination the Network+ certification and the Microsoft exams below are Upper Level credit. Would these be counted towards the advanced level business electives?

70-059 Internetworking with TCP/IP on NT4.0
70-087 Implementing and Supporting MS Internet Information Server 4.0
70-217 Implementing & Administering an MS Windows 2000 Directory Services Infastucture

Dear Chris,

One of our academic policies states no more than six semester hours from computer courses beyond those satisfying the Computer core requirement maybe applied as Business electives. We gave you 6 advanced level credits from computer courses towards your advanced level requirement, so we cannot use the Network+ towards this requirement.

Thought I would post the info here incase anyone else may assume they would be granted the UL credit with all the certification.
