credit question- maybe off topic
#1
Here is my situation- My last 9 credits are almost over. This officially ends the requirements for my BA, and I have filed for graduation. (deadline July 1)

Here is my dilemma- I applied for "credit for courses taught" last year and was awarded 24 credits. As the year went on, I became eligible for 5 more credits- I filled out the paperwork, but my boss made some errors, and there were delays. Imagine how long it took me to find out. TESC emails me- I email my boss- he sends in the papers- TESC takes their sweet time opening their mail...holding it....loving it....oh yeah- anyway- then they get back to me to point out the error. Rinse, wash, repeat. This happened THREE times. (really) and so from March when I started until TODAY, I have stressed out over these 5 "extra" credits. I emailed TESC today because I have not noticed anything posted (My last communication with them was 5/13) and they tell me they NEVER GOT my paperwork

I don't need these credits for my degree- the only reason I wanted them is because on the off chance that I were to seek out an MBA in the future, these are hospitality management credits/business electives and would be on my transcript- these are potential pre-reqs and/or in hospitality that would bring my total in that major to 10cr, and there are no CLEP/DSST/TECEP in that major making "just test later if necessary" not an option.

I don't know of any other school that gives credit for courses taught, so if I walk away from TESC without these on my transcripts, I won't have these at all ever. If I try and get them added, this might delay my graduation.

Advice???

That's a good question. Would these credits be on your transcript as graduate credits? If not, I don't think I would worry about it. All the MBAs I've checked out require prerequisites like principles of management, economics, accounting, etc... If they are graduate credits, then the trouble is worth it.

They are undergrad credits, but these 5 (along with the other 5) are my only RA business classes.

I think you might still be able to make it even if they don't get posted before July 1st. All the advice I've seen states that they are pretty good about accepting stuff up to the last minute for graduation... at least that's what I'm counting on. Wink

UPDATE:

I decided to drop it. Honestly, it's not worth the trouble. My boss said he mailed my paperwork- TESC said they didn't get it. Nice huh? I'm just ready to be done with them.

I think you made the best choice. Graduate with what you have and get out of there.

I can't understand why TESC is so slow with everything. They charge the highest enrollment fee out of all the Big 3! You would think they are raking in enough money to be able to hire enough staff. I have also had nothing but frustration with them since I sent my application. I have decided not to enroll with TESC purely because of the terrible service I have received.
