I am going to take the History Clep next and I can't decide which one I should start studying for. Is one easier than the other? Any advice would be helpful, thanks!

For me US2 was easier.

I heard US1 was easier...I took US2 and failed by 3 points.
I didn't like the subject but I took the NY regent on the same day and got a 99 so Idk how I failed the CLEP. It was the 1st CLEP I ever took so I didn't know how to study. I didn't know about IC, REA or Peterson's. They asked detailed questions and I only studied the general stuff...

In my opinion, US1 was WAY easier. But it seems we inexperienced young-uns do better as US1 than US2.

USH1 is more predictable, and for some much easier.
USH2 gives the advantage to those of us who actually remember Springsteen, Buddy Holly, Alan Ginsburg, Watergate, Iran Contra and The Vietnam War. I answered several USH2 questions just from being alive. :-) Passed: American Gov, US History 1, US History 2, Computing, Info Systems, Humanities, Sociology, Art, Western Civ I, Western Civ II, Social Sciences and History, Civil War, Business, Vietnam, A&I Lit, Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice, American Lit, English Lit, Astronomy, Supervision, 1 FEMA, Total -79

Took history II last summer and passed with a 70. Crammed for 7 days using IC and and Annenburg videos that can be found here Annenberg Media - A Biography of America.

I thought difficulty level was about the same for both. Although I studied more for US2 than US1 and it showed in the scores.
